I’m sitting at work now with a huge pit in my stomach even though I feel like I’m hungry, I can’t eat a bite.
In the past 1 1/2 to two weeks, my aunt (dad’s sister) lost her peripheral vision, then her regular field of vision became blurrier and blurrier. She had tests, and yesterday afternoon we found out she has a tennis ball sized tumor around her pituitary gland and they scheduled a meeting with a brain surgeon for today at 9 a.m. We haven’t heard anything yet about what the plan is, but they did tell her yesterday that it has to come out ASAP, and that she will never regain her eyesight.
My aunt has never married, has no children and has 5 brothers and sisters. We are a very close family and her brothers and sisters kind of feel very protective of her because she is so sweet, and would give you the shirt off her back. She was one of the primary caregivers to my grandparents because she lived with them (along with my other aunt and her daughter). Now that my grandparents have both passed away, it will be tough as my aunt will no longer be able to work or drive (maybe not cook, not sure what she’ll be able to do/not do with her current state of vision) and my other aunt with whom she lives will kind of become a primary caregiver again over her sister, even though she has a severe back injury (had surgery and is severely disabled now because of her back).
Ugh, I am just really upset right now and just hoping for the best. I believe in the power of prayers so please send your prayers and good thoughts!
