@Gerbera: that’s a good idea about using Photobucket! I may have to start doing that. hubs is on a car forum and they won’t let you link from your home computer, you have to use photobucket.

@HeatherShane: we’re talking within the bee, not throughout the internet

Eh. In general? I wouldn’t mind at all.

Now, if they were doing it and taking what I said completely out of context in order to change the original meaning of my message? Yeah. I would have serious issues with that.

Otherwise, no heartburn in this corner. To me the bee is still the internet. You can see the boards through simple google searches and you don’t have to have an account to read what is posted. If I didn’t want the internet to get a hold of it I wouldn’t post it.

I only upload through photobucket and weddingbee as well, so that I can go back and un-link the pictures if I want. I also never post a picture with the name of what it is, like Allure 8771 with a picture of me in the dress so that it doesn’t pop up in the google machine.

As for other bees talking about me… I guess it depends on the context. I don’t think we need the cross-thread drama of going back and referencing posts people have made in the past with the intention of using it against them. I’m a very infrequent poster on a forum that allows that and I find it bitchy and obnoxious. As for personal photos, I have no problem with a link being posted to a thread where I personally posted the picture, but it would bother me if another bee copied and used it themselves. I would probably request the mods delete it.

I don’t think I would mind, as it wasn’t negative… the whole point of my participation in these sites is to share my ideas and experiences, just as I have learned from others.  If anyone wants to restate something I’ve said or posted, I’m flattered that they’ve liked it enough to share, regardless of whether I get the credit or not.  Plus, I’m careful not to post any pics with identifying faces, names, etc.

Yea, I like the photo bucket (the autolink happening is annoying!) bc at least then I have control over removing pics from my post. And not WB’s 1 hour policy. It doesn’t prevent against screen shots or people saving to their computers. But it’s something. 🙂

If you post something on a public forum, you have to be ok with it being shared around. Alot of times I’ll repeat things someone else told me, but not remember who I heard it from, same with pictures, if I see something inspiring it just goes into this huge folder on my computer and I’ll poop it back out when it’s needed. I don’t think it’s really a big deal at all.

@Butterbee: I do that too.

As an example; i always kept pics that i saw posted of ceremonies performed with guests arranged in a circle. I have some gooooood ones. When i see another post looking for examples or inspirations, i whip one out.

It never crossed my mind that this would be wrong.

The only thing i hate is when people steal my jokes!

I dont really care to be honest. If it’s a photo I posted, its either watermarked or my info in the EXIF

I’ve copied another bee’s post and shared it in a different thread with the same topic… it was brilliantly written and so thoughtful, and it to me it was such an important message, I thought it needed saying as much as possible.

But to link back to what someone said as an attempt to invalidate them… not good.

The photo thing worries me b/c some bee’s are cautious with their dress or details (or identity) and will temporarily share a pic, and then delete it.  If it were copied during that time and shared, that wouldn’t be okay.

It’s probably best to contact the person who posted and ask if it can be shared or if they want to comment/ post on the new thread.

I am pretty sure this is talking about me posting pictures of bees rings on a marquise thread. I didn’t know it bothered anyone, as I had seen other bees post rose gold rings in threads of other bee’s rings that didnt belong to them. (Because you commented on that thread & told me you didn’t like it.)

I am sorry. I wont do it again. Embarassed

EDIT: (Just a quick note, I added each bees name to that thread of whoever owned what ring I posted.)
