To be honest, I never even thought about whether the BMs dress fabric would match my dress. My dress was taffeta and the BMs dresses were satin. I don’t think it looked off or bad at all.You can see the dresses behind the flowers. I think you will be fine with the satin and chiffon dresses together.

Nope! I wore lace and I let my girls pick their own dresses so one wore Chiffon and the other wore taffeta (I think).

I like when the bridesmaids’ dresses don’t match the bride’s dress fabric exactly.  It adds some visual interest and still looks coordinated.  I think as long as the styles are complementary, it looks great.  I really like the styles you’ve chosen!

My gown is lace with a satin underlay, and my bridesmaids are wearing crinkle chiffon.  I think it goes very well together.  Smile

My dress was silk taffeta, and my bridesmaids dresses were in satin.  I never thought about matching the fabrics either!

No, but not on purpose. My dress is chiffon and the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are chiffon, as well. I felt like it was the most flattering on all of them, as well as going with the floaty/ethereal theme I wanted. The wedding is also outside, so I wanted all of us to be in something light, since it’ll be in August.

I have a lace dress and my BM’s are going to be in silk chiffon.

@lindseyl06:  I think that’s totally fine, especially if they’re long.  The average temperature for my wedding date is low- mid- 50s and we’re doing chiffon.  Smile

I wore satin and my girls were in chiffon…I never really thought about similar fabrics.  I think the “look” you are going directs the fabric…

i wanted it to be similar, dint want my girls wearing a satin while I wore more of an organza, it would have looked funny.  You dont want one fabrik to look more formal then the other

My dress was lacy/ organza and my bridesmaids picked their own dresses, but none of the fabrics matched mine. I think it looked fine.
