this is a follow up to my “should I wax my arms” thread..
i spent the last 30 minutes bleeding and screaming while this poor esthetician attempted to wax my armpits. Holy crap. Barely possible. Half of the hair wouldn’t come out & the waxing papers are covered in blood and what look like uprooted trees.
She had to stop for fear that my skin would start to rip from repeated attempts to get everything off.
I’m currently sulking with caked wax, baby oil and aloe under my arms. I’d say about 68% of my hair is gone.
With my rehearsal Thursday, can I attempt to wax them again this week? Will my skin melt off? This is like waxing a bear.

just buy a new 3 blade razor the day of and shave before you leave for the rehearsal. A brand new razor does wonders vs. an old one. Same with the wedding day.
dont permanently scar yourself for one day. No one’s going to be looking at your armpits anyways.

megrays : OMG that sounds horrid!!
Definitely don’t try to wax again. I’ve been waxed literally everywhere a girl can wax and I am not kidding; underarm was the absolute worst for pain and sensitivity. The skin is just so thin and tender right there. Trying to go over skin that’s already irritated and broken would be a nightmare.
I think your only option at this point is to just shave with the nicest blade you can find right beforehand. Give your skin a day or two to settle down first, though.
Ugh. So awful. Sorry Bee!!

Ok, I will let it be & shave the rest. 69% less stubble at least!

On the upside, however, my arms weren’t that bad. Such a weird feeling to have no hair lol I feel like a baby seal

megrays : I had this done for my wedding too… what a feeling!!! LOL
I agree just shave. your skin is already irritated and if you try again it may be a lot worse.
Also… my arms felt a little tingly and such in long sleeves or when wearing a blanket for like a week after having my arms waxed and apparently that’s completely normal. Just remember to EXFOLIATE to avoid ingrown hairs when they grow back!

Oh no I’m sorry bee!! I have never attempted to wax my armpits so my advice would be to shave the rest after giving some time to heal!
My rehearsal dinner is on Friday, best of luck for yours 🙂
