We’re having a rustic farm wedding. I really love this dress, and I already own it. But.. I’m thinking I’ll be purchasing a full-length lace gown as my wedding dress. Then again, sometimes I see this pretty thing hanging in my closet & wonder if I should use it instead. So.. I need some outside input.. what do you ladies think of this dress?

I think it’s very pretty and would be perfect for your reception. Why not find a gown for the ceremony and then change into this for the reception?

I second dayl20! It’s a very pretty dress and I think you should definitely use it in some way. It would be a great reception dress!

That’s a beautiful dress, and will make an excellent reception dress!

I love it! I personally would consider adding some poof under the skirt!

@pengoala: Ooh that’s a good idea, too! Thankyou!

I think its really pretty, But I think you should get something different for the ceremony. I’m not a fan of short wedding dresses. BUt if it goes with your theme, then just wear that. Its cheaper that way. lol

It’s pretty and if it goes with your theme, go for it. Personally though, I’m not a fan of the sash. Is there a way to change it?

I actually really like this dress. I’d like to know if you’ve ever worn it before? (I have a white dress just sitting in my closet I’ve never worn) It would make for a great change at the recetion.

I love it! It totally fits the rustic vibe, and there’s nothing cheaper than something you already own. If you’re trying to cut costs, this would be a great way to go. BUT if you really want the special wear-it-once, princess feeling of a wedding dress… then listen to your heard and get something special for your wedding. You could wear this one to the rehearsal, reception, or even showers.

@s.renea9: I really was never a fan of short wedding dresses either! And in general, I’m still not, but I just love the layered lacey-ness of this little dress. But.. I am still thinking I’ll be getting a gown for the ceremony 🙂
@vivshanks: The sash actually can’t be completely changed without some major reconstruction of the dress, the lace above & beneath it are sewn onto it straight across. Also I don’t think there’s any lace underneath the sash, so it would look kind of weird if it was taken off & a thinner sash was added. I really do appreciate the suggestion, though. 🙂 I’ve thought of it myself, too.. I’m not 100% in love with the sash.
@jpalm13: I have worn it once before, which is the biggest reason that pushes me towards buying a different dress for the wedding. Plus, I have all of these other great ideas for using it now, like for the shower, rehearsal, or reception, so it won’t go to waste after all. 🙂
@mholden: Wearing it for the rehearsal is actually my favorite idea so far. I have no idea why none of these other possibilities crossed my mind! Thankyou! 🙂

@pengoala: I agree, try a tea length crinoline. I think it’s perfect for your rustic wedding!
