@loveanimalslovehim:  awww – thanks!! lol! im Harry obsessed – i wanted our table names to be harry themed but DH said no… managed to get one in there though – had our tables named as pubs/bars from movies!! WOOOO big up the Leaky Cauldron!!

@Baybeejulia:  I was with Fiance for about 3 years when we got engaged so we had discussed it before – I said I only like round solitaires with tapered bands. I said 1 carat is amazing but that I in no way expected it, and I thought I’d end up with half a carat. I never thought about the setting (seriously I just did not even consider that for some reason) and he got a 4 prong cathedral setting which I would’ve picked for myself had I considered it. I didn’t have a clue that he was ring shopping or that he was going to propose and he did an incredible job. Below is the ring he got – it is exactly perfect and I’d never want anything else – tapered white gold band, 1 carat round cut diamond.

Ah – great poll! I wasn’t expecting the proposal for another few months… though I knew my Fiance and had a feeling he would try to surprise me. He totally shocked me with the proposal!  I thought I’d maybe know if he had gone ring shopping… but nope! He went behind my back to my friends and family to find out what I liked! My preference was for yellow gold and a round diamond… beyond that I wanted to be surprised. Well, he did that PLUS added a few small diamonds into the band, so I was thrilled 🙂

I kind of knew something was up because our usual Valentine’s routine is stay in and order pizza.  Instead, DH made reservations at a nice restaurant.  We ate, went for a walk, nealy froze my ass off on a bench overlooking the harbour and then… he did it.

It wasn’t something I expected – we’d never really talked about it, but I knew he was it for me and I was in it for the long haul.

I had no idea! We had talked about it but said we would wait until we were both done with school, so when she proposed a year early it was a complete surprise. I  mentioned liking a round center stone but that was the only thing I really said to her…she picked out the perfect ring, I love it so much!

@Baybeejulia:  we had discussed getting engaged I made it pretty clear he’d want to hurry up! He had always said I’d pick my own ring! He proposed last week and picked the ring himself! He decided the day before he did it he was going to buy me the ring! I Loooove it! It fits perfect even though he had no idea of my ring size he just described my body type to the sales person! Everyone comments how it looks made for me hand and I agree! I was so afraid to look though when he proposed i knew I wouldn’t be able to hide my reaction! I gave a suprised ” oh it is actually lovely” when he asked me if I liked the ring!! I had been swooning over emerald cuts for months and just a few months ago I decided I wanted a round cut instead. He knew none of this by the way we never discussed rings! I had my eye on this ring in a jewellers in pic 1. Pic 2 is what he picked for me by himself. And I never looking at e rings on the shared computer so he must by physic! They’re pretty similar so needless to say I was delighted!!

My husband chose a lovely ring. I absolutely adored it. But the TL;DR story was that my husband hated it because his mother talked him out of proposing with the ring he liked.

I custom designed my engagement ring at a later date to match my weddin band. We’re both in love with it now.

@Bettyboo1982:  oh and to add the actual proposal was a complete shock! After being on proposal watch for about 8 months on every special occasion and holiday he completely caught me off guard on New Years day eating breakfast In my track suit with no make up, and hair scraped back And half a slice of toast in my mouth! He had mentioned before that 2014 would be a happy year for me! 😉 I wouldn’t have it any other way!!

Fiancé proposed 1.5 months before our 2nd anniversary and totallly caught me by surprise. We had never talked about rings or what I would have wanted but knew we both wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Needless to say he NAILED it with this ring!
