Bees who get mistaken for being waaay younger, why do you think this is?

socalgirl1689 :  I agree that alot of these threads are going to attract a skewed response, likely because they attract the people that can answer favourably and yeah, there’s going to be some exaggerating online as well. But if you’re waiting for photos, that could also be a privacy issue. I know some Bees are comfortable posting their pics publicly, wedding recaps and stuff and TBH I envy that, I’m just too wary to do it myself. If there’s a Bee who knows me well and wants to see a photo (lol not necessarily to see how young I do/ don’t look but out of general curiousity), I’d send one privately.

lol I DO have a Master’s tongue-out but I’m a Canadian size 10 (not sure on US or UK equivalent), will have a mortgage til the day I die and when we get those ‘how much do you save in a month?’ polls, I look for the ‘couch change’ option.

sunburn :  “At some point a woman must choose between her face and her ass”  lol this is gold, I’m keeping this 🙂

Luck and genetics do factor in- my mom just turned 80 and she looks at least 10 years younger. The women in our family seem to get good skin that ages well- but also a tendency to put on weight easily so I’m always having to watch that. Plus I use a high SPF sunscreen in both summer and winter (snow glare, esp when skiing or other outdoorsy stuff).

Before you replied to me, I already knew ahead of time that some will reason out privacy. However as you mentioned that some do post recaps anyway. There had to be some of the 50-plus who had replied in this thread who feel comfy or even proud enough to show us their “teenage” or “middle-school age” (which is 11 to 13 years old roughly) appearances that they are often mistaken for when they are in fact 10, 15 or 20 years older.

socalgirl1689 :  No one has to prove anything to you, it’s weird that this thread bothers you so much that you think you are owed photos of people to prove something.

socalgirl1689 :  Eh, I can believe the people on this thread simply because aging is so highly variable. I’d never be able to pin down someone’s exact age, only to a +/- 10 year window. And most of the time I’ll underestimate people’s age.

Also, as others have pointed out, those predisposed to respond are the ones who can respond favorably.

So? In other threads, people ask for citations, etc. all the time when replying. I have a right to voice out my opinion too just like anyone else here.zzar45 :

Yep, I hear you. I don’t mean to derail a thread but as an example, I started a thread here a few years ago asking how much soda do you consume. Nearly all said never. I don’t know how to link an old thread here but if I did I would. I was kinda surprised by the responses. I drink it probably twice monthly. But perhaps what happened was some bees were discouraged to even reply because they will stick out like a sore thumb if they say 3 times per week or something. techmom :

That was probably from 2016 or something. It was a really old thread. By the way, bad bee for drinking soda (clutches pearl) LOLwink crustyoldbee :
