Not sure why what day of the week would matter? You can get engaged any old time, hanging out in your house if you so choose.

Does he have a day off that he may be planning around? I got engaged on a Thursday night because Fiance planned it around my Friday off. He told me there was going to be an office party at the banquet hall at a B&B that I love. When I got there, it was just him and a romantic table complete with candles and roses. We had an awsome dinner, got engaged, and then he told me we were spending the night at the B&B. He had packed my bag, which was amusing. It had a bunch of mismatched clothing items, including about 5 pairs of socks, which I still pick on him about. We were only staying one night and it was during that heat wave back in July when it was 100 degrees even at night. What was I going to do with all those socks? πŸ™‚

I wouldn’t worry about his plans. You know it’s coming, but you want to have some surprises!

I got engaged on the 4th of July, which was a Monday. It sucked waking up and going to work the next day since I had so little sleep from being excited and calling my family the night of the proposal, but on the other hand I was really excited to go to work and tell all of my friends the news!

A proposal takes about five seconds, not all day! I think you’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you’re expecting the proposal to be some big production. What’s important is that he is asking you to spend the rest of your life with him, not how complicated the proposal is or how long the activities around it take.

I know you said he’s done a lot of planning, but it’s coming off like a nice dinner followed by the question and ring is somehow inadequate.

It sounds like he’s putting a lot of thought into it!  I wouldn’t worry yourself too much.

We got engaged on a Wednesday.  He had wanted to do it over the weekend, but the weather had sucked and he wanted to propose on a hike on our favorite trail in the hills just outside town.  So we went hiking in the early afternoon, got engaged, then I had to go to class that evening :-  It was still romantic and awesome, and I don’t remember one thing we covered in that class – I couldn’t focus at all!

Got engaged on a Wednesday– he wanted to do it on my birthday for whatever reason πŸ™‚ I just remember bursting to tell the news at work the next morning at 6 am on very little sleep.

@LizLemon: Okay, glad you clarified! I’d probably just make sure to let him know that you’ll be happy no matter what, you just want to be his wife =)  I had to tell my Fiance that because he had it in his head that it had to be some huge grand thing event, and it was definitely causing him some stress.

Although maybe that’s crappy advice…because after I said it Fiance started planning a proposal that involved the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, which is SO not my thing – it’s his! I just somehow knew that’s what he had up his sleeve and purposely mentioned just making sure sure it would be something I liked rather than something that’s all about him and his music obsession – said it jokingly, but he knew I was serious. His face fell for a second, but he got over it pretty quick and I got an adorable proposal while carving pumpkins – he carved ‘Marry Me?’ into his.

Now I probably sound like the bad one, but…just saying .lol

Mine was on a Thursday.. and it happened in the living room so no elaborate proposal but it doesn’t matter. It’s special because he asked.
