(Closed) Bees who have had back spasms!?

Heat is your friend with back spasms. So is ibuprofen. Muscle relaxers are better, of course, but then you have to deal with being zoned out – for something without those side effects, an anti-inflammatory is as good as you’re going to get. 

When I’ve gotten them, I’ve taken some ibuprofen and a hot bath. I started doing yoga and almost never have them anymore. 

Sorry you’re going through this. They’re so awful. You can’t do anything while you’re in pain with them. 

ETA: They’re often triggered by stress, and by the unhealthy things we make our bodies do when we’re stressed (sit oddly or uncomfortably, poor posture, etc).

For me I start with a hot bath, then move to a moist heating pad, then rub tiger balm on and do some light stretches. Cycling through every five hours and finally ending 36 hours later by icing my poor sore back. I find I hurt the worst after the spasms stop which is why I ice. Sorry you are going thru this. Sending up prayers for speedy healing.

I started having back spasms when I switched birth control. Did you do this lately? Have any other medications changed? Like the PP said, heat and pain killers are the best remedy.

I take tylenol for back pain and ususally use a heat pad and have a warm bath. It really sucks, so I hope you feel better!
