Darling Husband was my first date on Eharmony, but he was on awhile before meeting me.

OKCupid for us. I really loved their survey questions – some were complete deal breakers for me, so I immediately blocked anyone who had a differing view (eg. I am obese, so I’m not even going to give a chance to some who says yes to fat people are gross!). Turns out our ideals really matched, and he lived 1 hour and 45 minutes away, which isn’t too extreme when you live in the country!

Eharmony. I wasn’t a real subscriber and in order to reply to his message (after doing the back and forth questions) I had to pay ($275 year subscription!). For some reason I wanted to reply to him. I couldn’t see his picture or anything yet as a non subscriber. I was tired of being single and thought to myself I will try online dating for a year and if nothing happens, at least I know I tried and then I will give up.

Well luckily I found him attractive and I liked his personality. We kept talking for over 3 weeks, almost 4. He was the only one I liked messaging and had found attractive. He kept wanting to meet but I was scared and wasn’t ready. I had never met in person with anyone online before. I finally gave in because he was going to stop talking to me otherwise.

I was scared (first meeting at his house at night watching a movie!) but I’m glad I went through with it. 14 months later we have spent almost every week together since that first meeting, bought a house together, etc.

craigslistgirl :  My friend met her husband on Craigslist, which we were all shocked by. (Since we thought of it more as a place to look for apartments, old furniture, and illicit drug meetups in parks, lollll.)  But they’re both wonderful, normal people, and going strong about 7 years later!

We met on OKC, but we actually knew each other from when we worked next door to each other years before. We probably never would have found each other again if it weren’t for OKC though! 🙂

We met on an online game called The Old Republic! Hahaha. Whenever I tell people that they always seem a bit taken aback. We are both massive nerds. Started grouping up to play together and eventually started chatting about the game, then realised we had ridiculous amounts in common and our in-game chat migrated to 5 hour long phone calls every day (somehow worked around his military schedule!) But we were just real good friends until about 5 months after meeting I blurted out that I loved him. I didn’t even know what he looked like really! So I was pretty bowled over when I finally saw his beautiful face lol. It’s been around 18 months now and visiting back and forth (he is in the US, I’m in NZ) and we are getting married in May! I still can’t believe I met the man of my dreams playing a dorky computer game tongue-out

Twty6 :  I thought my Fiance and I were the only ones who met in a chatroom! We met in an AOL chatroom (Limp Bizkit), also in 1999, when we were 12 and 13.

I met him on a mutual friend’s page on FB.  He sent me a message, we talked, we started Skyping, I visited, he visited and 7 months later we were engaged.
