Olgarie:  that’s a gorgeous color!  i also chose a non-traditional stone.

i went with a green sapphire from the natural sapphire company.  i’m a waiting bee, so no pictures yet, the ring is somewhere in the house!  but here’s a link to the stone.

I’m still waiting, but chances are that I’ll have a green sapphire as my future e-ring’s center stone. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of it on this computer, and I have since given it to DBF so he can start the ring process whenever he feels ready, I can’t take any, either. It’s teal/emerald green, cut into a chubby oval shape, and weighs over just over 2 carats. Maybe this has to do with how I haven’t seen the sapphire since January, but lately, colorless stones have been appealing to me more than I remember. Regardless, since I have some time before getting engaged, I don’t think it’ll be a problem for another year or two.

I got a ruby as it’s my birthstone and I’ve always wanted one. I really liked diamond solitaires but felt like something was missing, turns out it was a pop of colour!

Olgarie:  My first engagement ring is an opal. I absolutely love it! The only problem is that it is too soft as an everyday stone for me. I wear it on a chain around my neck now. My husband did end up buying me a diamond for it’s durability, but I still adore my opal.

bunniejanie:  That stone is stunning! I think my jaw dropped when I clicked the link. Can’t wait to see the pictures of what setting you put it in!

I have a moissanite and I couldn’t be happier. It’s shiny, it’s moody, it sparkles like crazy, and it was a hell of a lot cheaper than a diamond of a similar size in a similar setting.

Green amethyst here. I’ve never once had anyone tell me or suggest I should’ve gotten a diamond instead. It matches my (and my DH’s) personalities too well ๐Ÿ™‚

Olgarie:  Thank you….my husband has a thing about buying me hearts, lol. Even the earrings he buys me are hearts.
