Just picked out our ering yesterday and deposit paid.. 😬

we’re planning a trip to New York at Christmas, so going by how much of a wee planner my Boyfriend or Best Friend is I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened then!

Then again, that is ages away so secretly hoping he surprises me earlier! But I’m going to try to put it out of my mind on the assumption it will be December…🤞

We started looking at rings in Nov 2017. Started the custom design process in March 2017. Ring was ready in Late May and collected in early June. I have now been waiting 37 days…..the wait continues.

My parents are going to Europe in 2 weeks so I was hoping it would happen before they left but it doesn’t look like it will happen! So it looks like I’ll be waiting at least another 2 months. It feels like a lifetime!

My SO and I are picking my ring together. We have the center stone, which was a process one weekend in May when he said we could do stone and ring separately. I basically chose a whole ton of stones I liked, narrowed down my selection, sent him my 8 or so choices, and then continued narrowing down based on his reactions to each one. I’m in LOVE with the stone I wound up choosing.

Wednesday we go ring shopping for the setting and I am so excited. I am using a jeweler I saw recommended on the Bee, actually!! The guy was super prompt and nice in his responses to my questions and his work is incredible and looks like it may actually be dainty enough to fit my finger really well, so I’m hoping I’ll find IT. I’ve been looking at hundreds of settings, possibly over a thousand of them, to narrow my choices down to 6-8 or so at this one jeweler.

Once we pay for the ring and it’s made and in my SO’s possession, I am REALLY hoping he doesn’t make me wait too long – like, more than a couple of weeks. I’m excited to be engaged and plan my wedding, but even more excited to commit to each other in that legal, official sense. We’ve been talking about marriage since we were about a year or so into our relationship and got on the same page about our desires.

I’ve informed him I want him to do something cute and that just handing me the ring would upset me. I have no clue if he has something in mind or is planning something and won’t even try to guess because he has a great poker face when it comes to surprises. Trying to distract myself until Wednesday, at the very least.

We had gone ring searching after our sixth dating anniversary last January.  We always knew we were going to get married so I just provided him with a list of different rings I liked and let him decide out of that bunch. I gave him the list in I want to say April (?) and he proposed in September.

watermelon2426 :  My SO’s thinking is that I’m the one who has to wear it, so I get to have final say on everything. I can be really indecisive, though, so if it comes down to it on Wednesday and I have several options, I may just tell him I’m going for a walk and he can choose his favorite and surprise me, lol.

This is my first post here but I’ve been lurking around for a while! 😊 My Boyfriend or Best Friend told me to order my e ring on my birthday. (7/3) We ordered the ring on 7/4 and it takes about 10-15 days to have it made + shipping time.  I can’t wait! I designed the ring and picked the diamond, but I told him I didn’t want to see the ring until he proposes.  We’ve been together 9 years and I told him I was finally ready to settle down around March-April.

My SO and i picked out and bought my ring about 2 years ago because we happened to run into exactly what i wanted at the pawn shop we work at. Because of the way we found the ring by accident im still waiting with no clear timeline in sight

watermelon2426 :  we dated for 3 years before getting married (married on our anniversary) and have now been married for nearly 11 years…… I will get my 1st ring in about 4 weeks ones it’s ready at the jewelers.  So nearly 14 years of waiting.
