I personally never saw a use for them.  Sorry! 🙁

I’ve never really seen the point of passport covers – although mine looks like its been through the wash multiple times so maybe I could have used one.  I’m always sticking mine in a pocket in my bag where it wouldn’t fit if I had a passport cover.

I have a super cute passport cover and I love it, but Darling Husband HATES passport covers (he travels international monthly). Darling Husband says he’s proud to be an American and he wants everyone to see his navy passport. Corny I know, but he says it all the time.

It kinda upset the customs agents when I hand them my passport in a passport cover too!

@mightywombat:  You stole my idea :). I agree that a nice set of luggage tags that “represents” them would be much apprecuated.

Definitely agree on the luggage tags. Passport covers can be cumbersome. Thoughtful gift!

I always use a passport cover.  I have one that blocks electronics.  Dh and I like our matching ones…

I was given a very nice leather passport cover and I HATE it. Half the time I can’t leave it on my passport (have to take it off when going through customs) and it gets lost for a varied period of time.

@mightywombat:  Agreed, luggage tags would a very nice gift. 🙂

I don’t think I would travel with a passport cover if I had one.  Just adds bulk and seems like it would be a pain through security.

One idea would be monogrammed toiletries bags.  You could stuff a few things in it for them.  Maybe a travel set from The Art of Shaving” (or something like that) for him, and some Origins travel size products for her.

I have a nice tumi passport holder. It’s good because it also keeps other ID’s and cards and such when I travel and keeps it all in the same place.

I was going to recommend luggage tags, search Etsy for them, there are sellers that make AWEsome personalized ones and I’ve bought them as gifts quite a few times. it’s fun because its one of your first things that has both your names
