princessanon0125 :  I AM Cuban American. My father was born in Cuba and lived there for 1/2 of his childhood. But thank you for your outside observer’s perspective on my heritage.

happyowlbee :  Trade deals with China. Years ago the government signed a trade deal with China that allows them to bring their goods into our country with little to no tax. However to send our goods to them, our government pays exorbitant amounts just to get our goods into their country.

It was actually cheaper to move business overseas and import it back into the states than it was to keep the business here.

Also didn’t agree with the Iran deal. While they won’t be getting uranium and running reactors they also support terrorist groups that recently fired on U.S. soldiers. Iran funnels them money.

I think you will find that to be an interesting read. If I’m not mistaken, there were a couple other states that did this as well.

1. Thank you for elaborating on everything. Sometimes it’s so easy to assume and put everyone in a bubble.

2. Sorry for assuming your first reply was directed towards me. sealed

princessanon0125 :  Well someone certainly is displaying microagression…

I am free to comment on any thread I chose, just like you. I have not engaged in any name-calling or insinuated in any way that you are uneducated, uninformed, or stupid. But I will call you out for telling me I’m hateful and arrogant and your ludicrous claim that I, and people who share my views, made you vote for Trump. No one made you do a damn thing. No one made you lob insults at me because you didn’t agree with me.

If people on the internet challenging you makes you this upset, you might want to rethink your priorities.

As a non American I want to know a few things. Honestly because these are things I legitimately do not understand why people are so passionate about them.

1. People being angry about flag burning. This is something I have never understood, to me I do not get why it hurts people so bad , its a piece of fabric and just a symbol.

2. Guns, everyone says they have a right to a gun and that having guns stops more crimes happening. Again I am confused by this, if 2 people have guns isnt it more likely that someone will die, rather then 1 criminal with a gun that may threaten and not kill someone?

3. Several people have said they voted trump as America needs to stop being walked all over. That they need to show how powerful they are and that others are not fearing america enough. My question is what makes America greater then any other country?

MrsVes :  Let me try my best to answer these questions.

1. I think because a flag, not jus tthe US flag, is a symbol of the country and patriotism. Although it is just a piece of fabric, the symbolism that it holds is great. Why do people wave flags of their country during the Olympics? the World Cup? Burning the flag shows great disrespect. I’m not sure how else to explain.

2. I think anti-gun laws are more prominent outside of the US. But to answer your question, one criminal with a gun can kill someone. In fact, there have been instances of mass murders carried out by a criminal with a gun. (Columbine, joker movie theater, connecticut, dylan roof) So some people believe that the right to have a gun is vital in order to protect themselves from criminals like this.

3. MY answer to this would be because America is diverse. But I think you may have varying answers here 🙂

Katie-Didnt :  oh I’m not upset, but if you have no problem with people voting for Trump then why have you taken every opportunity to say he is wrong and point out why we shouldnt vote for him.

Where I come from,  you catch more flies with honey than with piss and vinegar.

I have said it over and over again, if you vote for Hillary great, it’s your right and though I disagree with you it’s still your right and I would never try to impose my views on you. However, I have been brow beaten, for my choice, a person I know advocated having my children kidnapped from me because of my vote and I have said over and over that is your opinion and though I disagree, I support your right to vote for who you wish.

It’s the hypocrisy of it all. You point out Trumps flaws, but when someone brings up Clintons flaws, or the people she surrounds herself with you just brush it off. Maybe her flaws are why people didnr vote for her.

Now you say well she isn’t the president so we aren’t talking about her. He is President Elect, I prefer to wait and see what he does in office.

Had Mrs. Clinton been elected I would have been disappointed but I would have withheld judgement and prayed fervently that she did a good job. I wouldn’t wish her to fail.

I certainly wouldn’t wish her to fail so I could gloat about it. If our president fails it’s not just a failure for one person it’s a failure for the nation.

What makes me so frustrated is that women think they can tell each other what to do with their reproductive parts but don’t want to offer any help. If a woman doesn’t want to have a child that is HER choice. If a man and man or F/F want to get married that is THEIR choice. Our nation was built on SEPARATION of church and state. I don’t care what the Quran, Torrah, or Bible says on these topics because it is irrelevant. Wanting your own personal beliefs as law that limits the freedom of others is not right. Women who don’t want to have children shouldnt be forced to raise them or give them up for adoption because you think thats the right thing to do. You don’t face the consequences of having or aborting a baby so you don’t get a say. Children are expensive and this would increase overall government spending on welfare, and if we don’t have welfare for these unexpected kids then families are going to be hurting to provide and feed for children. Late term abortions are sad but with easy access to places like planned parenthood, we can prevent pregnancies in the first place or catch them in the very early stages before advanced cell differentiation to organs. And while I’m on this topic, PP doesn’t pay for abortions, the woman who wants to get it has to pay out of pocket. PP’s abortion services account for <5% of what they do.

I am absolutely devastated by Trump becoming president but like Obama said, if he succeeds then the country succeeds. I sure hope for the best and his interview on 60 minutes showed a possibility of him backing off the hateful promises he made on his campaigns. But you can bet your ass if he goes on to divide this country and favor the beliefs of close minded (largely white) religious people, I am going to protest him till the end of his presidency. Hillary was not my first choice (Bernie was), but if Trump starts to really advocate for ALL people and the middle class then I wish him the best of luck.

princessanon0125 :  I am completely totally 100% allowed to disagree with you and debate your points about why he was the better candidate and if you don’t like that, by all means, walk away.

It’s a wedding forum. Its not that serious. People on the internet are allowed to disagree, but your points get thrown out the window when you decide to call people all kinds of names and make accusations about an internet strangers character because you don’t like how the debate on an anonymous internet forum is going.

xx06003 :   Totally respect your view. I’m not religious at all. I’m not Christian. I agree that a woman should have responsibility over her body, however I also believe that means having the responsibility to make sure unintended pregnancies don’t happen.

Of course accidents happen, incest, rape, medical problems. I accept and support abortion in those cases.

However I can not wrap my mind around a woman who repeatedly uses abortion as a form of birth control. A girl I grew up with had four abortions in one year even though birth control was always free where i lived. At the clinic she had the procedures done they gave her birth control and she just wouldn’t use it. Before she had her tubes tied she told my mom she had had 14 abortions in 5 years.

To me that is just wrong. I am sorry we disagree.

I am really worried for America. How have you arrived in such a situation?

The transition team has been chosen apparently (yet to be confirmed on the BBC).These people will decide on over 4,000 posts within government. Who has been chosen?

Nepotism. Nepotism.  Nepotism. Nepotism-in-law.

The Trump family have a very, very, really, really big say in who gets appointed in governent even though appointing members of your own family creates a conflict of interest, even though appointing business associates creases a conflict of interest, and even though appointing members of your own family who happen to be your business associates creates a massive conflict of interest.

And I haven’t even started on the other appointees yet. Millionaire crony, Millionaire crony, Millionaire crony, Millionaire crony, milionaire crony. Crony, crony, crony, crony, crony, crony, and crony.

And then there’s the climate change deal……..

The KKK……..

Roe versus Wade……

The wall that is rapidy turning into a fence……

The request for delay of the Trump University court case……

No wonder there is civil unrest. I truly fear for what will happen next.
