Supersleuth :  Just writing to let you know that sunfire does not speak for all of us.  I think you do get it.  I’d say you get it more than many Americans do.

passthepeas :  I disagree- I think its borderline impossible to completely understand another country’s issues and political scheme. Yes, international bees can comment on the US pres election, Brexit, etc. But, I think its impossible for someone from another country to fully understand and comprehend everything that happens in America. They’re not experiencing America- both the amazing parts of our country and the issues first hand, which really makes it impossible to accurately understand the conflicts and needed resolutions.

You can obviously give your opinion, but I don’t think a non-US bee can understand America better than a US bee. She may agree with your personal opinions more than other americans, but that doesn’t mean she ‘gets it’ more than we do.

passthepeas :  Can you give more information? I am not familiar with where Trump lied/cheated in international trade negotiations. I’d like to respond to your comment, but not sure what exactly you’re referencing.

eta: not trying to be snarky- clarifying because tone is difficult to understand over the internet sometimes.

passthepeas :  Thank you for your message. I need a bit of encouragement.

The daft thing is that I’m on America’s side. I do realise the problem with terrorism needs international cooperation particularly in terms of intelligence and globally things are much more interconnected and “behind the scenes” than maybe people realise. America needs its allies.

Just posted this on the “60 minutes interview” thread and thought I should here too..

I was pleased. And surprised.

I think it makes sense that he’s going more moderate on a lot of things he campaigned for. I very much disagree with folks calling him a liar for that (just for that, lol). Would they call every pask US president a liar as well? They’ve all done the same.  It’s called compromise to please the majority. That’s what you do as a President. It’s democracy after all.

How else could he unite America? Why are people upset about this? What he’s doing is very smart, he realizes (or someone told him, but again, he’s smart to listen) that he has to compromise to try his best please everyone. He did say he’d be a president for all and I’m starting to see that.

Lets be real. Less than a third of the US voted for him. OF COURSE he has to compromise on what he wanted to do. Would you rather zero compromise and him only do what a minority of Americans want? Now that would be dangerous. And exactly why would anyone want to help ruin America? Why are people so bitter and hateful? Both Obama and Trump and even Hillary said we should start to work together.. and to give him a chance. I know I’m trying.

FYSA: this is coming from “one of those liberals”

ETA – not very pleased about the appointments so far. But I’ll take baby steps..

Ironically, Mike Pence is going to court to block a labor lawyer’s request for some of Mike Pence’s emails, which are being requested  under the Access to Public Records Act. The emails in question were withheld from a larger request and ordered by the courts. http://www.indystar.com/story/news/2016/11/14/whats-mike-pence-hiding-his-emails/92839560/?hootPostID=7f787efc269d721568d2164754f1d9db
