If you’re getting your hair done, take that along and the hair dresser will place it to stay in.

My hair is pretty fine too…I find that headbands with a bit of elastic stay put for me.  A plain ribbon or scarf wouldn’t last 5 minutes on my head.

I’ve tried to wear ribbon headbands before and they never stay on. I have hair that’s naturally super straight so there really isn’t anything for the ribbon to hold on to. They just slide right off :/

I have fine, straight hair and while I didn’t wear a ribbon headband on my wedding day, I did wear just a ribbon as a headband out to dinner that evening. I also regularly just wear a ribbon. Honestly, it stays much better if your hair isn’t freshly washed – my hair holds any style better if I washed it teh day before. a friend suggested that I use hot glue – inch long sections, try to keep it a little more flat. I tried that for a few, and it works decently enough, it kind of grabs the hair. I’ve also found just gluing (with fabric glue) a bit of elastic to teh underside works well. Sometimes I’m lazy and just have a ribbon that I like, so I tryto hide bobby pins. If you’re getting your hair done, I’m sure your hair stylist will have better ideas than me, but definitely give it a shot with dirty hair. Oh, and satin-y ribbons are the worst for staying for me.
