We did a small registry of things we needed to upgrade- new vacuum, new steam mop, new pots and pans, some serving stuff etc. We are having 160 people and we registered for maybe 50 gifts.

We got everything off of the registry already for the shower and the wedding is next week. In our area we do gifts for both.

I don’t like registering for cash funds, everyone knows the bride and groom want money and if there’s no registry they will get the hint 😊

occasionlabdotcom :  we had a registry with upgrades and new fun stuff like a wine fridge, liquor cabinet, and tons of board and yard games. We had about 70 gifts listed and 100 guests invited. I’d say we got about 2/3 of our registry items and $4.5k in cash.

People know the couple want $$ you don’t really have to tell them. We had our registry on our website and that’s it.

we had a traditional gift registry of household stuff- linens, china, kitchen stuff etc. We received most of it. As soon as we were engaged extended family was asking for it… “did you pick your china?” “where did you register?” etc. They all expected it, especially for the shower. Wouldnt have considered a “cash registry” because I think its crass and our families do as well. Many of them give $$ at the wedding anyway, no need to fundraise for it. Everyone knows money is a fine gift!

We have an online gift registry with things that have been on my wish list for years, but stuff I haven’t purchased due to saving for a house and wedding. It’s all good quality household items like cookware, linen, crockery, that I’m hoping will last many years. I did a registry because I find them super helpful myself, I hate wasting time shopping around for gifts.
