I’m mid-30’s. Was proposed to with a moissanite in my early 20’s, but I couldn’t get into it no matter how much I tried to love it. I eventually got a mined diamond. There’s just something so fascinating to me about earth-created gems. I’m not sure I could ever truly LOVE a lab stone of any kind 😬 (for myself; I am happy for others who love their rings regardless of what it is!)

I got a lab diamond. This sounds so silly but I am scared of the dark and the thought that someone has to risk their life and go into a small, dark, enclosed place deep in the earth kinda freaks me out. I’ve also watched a few documentaries about unethical mining practices and I dont want something that could cause other humans so much hurt on my finger representing my love with my favorite person. No judgement to anyone who has a natural diamond because I know there’s ethical diamonds/heirloom diamond options too.
I’m also in tech so the fact that technology and scientific innovation made this diamond possible is pretty cool too.

Where I live lab diamonds are so terrible in quality, I’d choose a CZ over them any day. So, when I got engaged, it was not even a possibility. All my rocks are natural, diamond and sapphire. But I have some pearls from my parents, some are natural and some are grown in a pool I think. Im 27 btw.

I had a mined diamond a million years ago when I got married. Then about 5 years ago got a white sapphire, where I loved the stone but not the setting.  Then 3 years ago decided to try a moissy, which I love. But then got another ring and got it set with lab diamonds, which I love.

So I’ve tried one of everything it seems and love them all. I’ve worn my original gold wedding band with each one.

I’m mid-50’s.

@lovelynight:  Very similar here. I love the tech and I have anxiety about large spaces and large passages of time (not entirely sure why), so looking at my diamond and knowing that it’s millions of years old will really freak me out.

I’m 44 and have a natural diamond. A Forevermark diamond actually. It just so happened I got a good deal on the diamond at a local jewelry store. I had no preference going into my engagement ring search last year though. I would have gone with either, natural or lab grown, and still feel that way. As long as you get what you want at a good price who cares are my thoughts. If having a very large diamond Is important to you, I see nothing wrong with going with the lab grown over natural to get more bang for your buck.

I have a lab diamond and I love it. Although I understand that many people just prefer natural diamonds, it just didn’t make sense to me to get one. I wanted to go as big as we could for the lowest cost! I get so many compliments on mine (it has a really great sparkle in person!) and no one would ever know it’s origin. I tell everyone I know to go lab.

I am almost 29 and was proposed to the day after turning 27 for reference.

My engagement ring is a 1.1ct natural diamond and I got engaged when I was 25.

I’m 25, both me and fiancé were 24 when we got engaged. We went with a mined diamond solely for the fact I dont love the way oval moissanites look! I do love moissanite on its own but the oval moissanites are noticeably wider. I also think I was so excited when we went together to look that I didn’t think to ask about lab diamonds and the mined diamonds they showed us fit in our budget.

Lab diamond, 29. I honestly don’t really see the difference in appearance between the two. I love how sparkly mine is and the fact that it wasn’t mined unethically or is some sort of blood diamond, is so reassuring to me. I don’t care about resale value because I plan to be married and in love forever so why would I ever sell it!?

My diamonds are mined. I did recently look and consider a lab created diamond but went the moissy route instead. (I also own a few moissanites) I am 43.
