I’ve been browsing dresses to kind of get a feel for what I might want and there are just SO many options out there. I do, however, know I do not want a traditional wedding gown, as this is not my first marriage, I am in my 40s, we are on a tight budget, and it will also be a very small, relatively low-key event. The big white dresses just don’t feel right to me, but I DO want to still feel like a bride. I’m thinking something colorful and formal, but not over the top, but I’m just not really sure at this point.
So far, this is the only dress that’s even kind of caught my attention, though I have no idea what color I would go with at this point. https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/alfred-sung-strapless-high-low-sateen-twill-gown/4700240
Did you have a non-traditional or colorful dress? Show me!

It’s kind of similar to the one you posted and not colorful BUT it’s rent the runway and it’s $70 to rent and really fun and cute. I think Rent The Runway is a great place to look if you want to save some money but still find an amazing dress!
Good luck!

I can’t remember which new it was, but I remember someone had a gorgeous black and white dress. I hope she posts it over here.

I’m still in love with my dress. Monique Illuhier “Candy” I was a second time bride in my mid thirties when I wore it.

The pictures don’t show the true colour, it’s much more blue in real life

claroquesi : Those are all beautiful! I hadn’t really even considered going to an actual bridal shop, since I didn’t want an actual “wedding dress,” but duh…of COURSE they would have other options for bridesmaids and such! Thanks!

I bought my dress already for wedding next year, didn’t want to spend a whole heap on it and thought this lovely blush colour and the style looked nice on me. It looks almost white in some photos but not quite. Will be floor length for my height (inc shoes). here are some stock photos 🙂

By the way I didn’t get my dress from a bridal shop. It was a general fashion store that has a good selection of evening / party dresses and has recently added a bridal / bridesmaids range at affordable prices. 🙂
