Um. Hello! Munich has Oktoberfest. Why wouldn’t you want to go there?! Laughing

We’re backpacking through Europe and I had hoped to include Bavaria in there and you are absolutely right the region is beautiful. The small little towns are so adorable. And how can a view of the Alps not be romantic??

We’ve gone to plenty of beaches in our lifetime and sure we will go to more. But a backpacking trip through Europe just won’t happen with kids. It’s been a dream of ours for a decade. What better time to do it than for our honeymoon?

We’re both architects (to be!) so for sure we will appreciate all the wonderful European Architecture. Foodies at heart it will be great to experience authentic Italian, French food, etc. I studied the Pantheon for 4 months in undergrad and can not wait to stand under that oculus!!!!!!!!

When are you going? In Oberammergau (southern Bavaria), the Passion Play takes the stage once every ten years and 2010 happens to be the year. We were going to take the trip to see it but with the pace we are going I couldn’t see spending a whole day watching a play. And it takes place from May 15 to Oct 3.

We are doing a little of typical (cruise from Venice to Athens), but are spending the first 8 days in Budapest and Prague. Budapest definitely raises some brows, but I have ALWAYS wanted to go there

Munich sounds fantastic! I wish we had thought of that, but we’re super excited that we’re going to Edinburgh, Scotland! Bring on the single malts and the lochs!!!

We’re going whitewater rafting for our honeymoon.  I’ve been a few times before, but my FH has never gone, and May is high water season, so this is a new experience for me.  After a couple of days exploring the Ottawa River rapids, we’re *hopefully* heading to Kingston, ON, to check out where we’ll be living this fall when I start my B.Ed. at Queen’s University.

A few people have wrinkled their noses at this, “but don’t you want to go someplace new?  exotic?”  to which I reply “Feel like paying for it?”  Seriously, unless you’re buying airfare or paying for hotel rooms, don’t question our honeymoon plans.

We’re taking a cruise out of NYC to Canada, stopping in Halifax, Nova Scotia and in New Brunswick. I always feel like I have to explain our reasons for NOT going to the Caribbean, though usually people only seem slightly disappointed and don’t say anything outright. I love that we don’t have to fly anywhere, and I’ve never been on a cruise before! I’ve also been to Canada (Montreal and Quebec) before, but always in the winter. I’m excited to see a new part in the summer. 🙂

Ok I think I have the weirdest one. My aunt offered her bungalow to us for a week. It’s on Whidbey Island (off the coast of Washington state). It’s small and quiet but beautiful. Kind of worried that we might not have much to do or see but it’s free and it’s pretty 🙂 Maybe we can see BC too…

ICELAND was our original plan, but then the volcano started spewing ash. Since we are not sure when it will finish best not to risk it this time.

We just booked our honeymoon yesterday-a cruise visiting various cities in Italy, Barcelona and Nice, France.  I could not be more excited.
