My first thought was “Oh, that’s cute”. I really like that it goes with the stars that go farther up your neck. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the swirly lines going through the middle. But I like the swirly shape of the tat as a whole. And I have no problem with big/visble tats on women! If you’re gonna have them – you might as well show them! Not like it’s on your forehead!

it’s not really my style but i do like it (especially the colors and the fact that it means something to you)…but really if you like it, that’s all that matters.  i can’t say that i’d like “photorealistic” better…i prefer whimsical and mystical, lol.  i have a half sun/moon medallion in the middle of my upper back, a swallow memorial tattoo on the left side of my chest, and a block of numbers (another memorial tattoo) on the inside of my left forearm.  i’m also planning a rather large phoenix for the back of my left shoulder.  i even bought a strapless dress so i could show off all my ink.  lol

It’s not my style but it sounds like it’s your style so I’m sure you rock it awesome! It’s great that it has special meaning to you. I’m with some of the other PP’s where I prefer the more ‘photo-realistic’ tats.

@BushelAndAPeck:  it’s gorgeous. And even moreso b/c it has meaning to you. Personally, I like stars, not so big on flowers, and I like the swirls.

I have to take issue with PP’s saying it’s childish. Childish how? Because it has stars and flowers? Maybe she likes stars and flowers. A lot of people do. Nobody would ever tell a man his tattoo is childish. My Future Father-In-Law and Fiance both have the same Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle on their left arm (actually, I can’t remember but I think Future Mother-In-Law does too, or is going to get it). It means something to both of them and nobody has ever told them it’s childish.

I plan on adding to my tattoo before my wedding. Right now I have a half angel/half demon surrounded by fire with the night sky and Leo constellation above it, on my upper left arm. Leo is my sign and my oldest DS’s sign. Planning on continuing the night sky onto my back and having a Phoenix in the upper left corner of my back.

I like it!  I have tattoo’s also, I have to disagree with people saying it looks childish…that is subjective, but then again so are opinions.

It’s funny because when I was trying on wedding dresses my mom kept picking the dresses that covered my tattoo (it’s floral and goes from my collar bone down to mid chest) the most and even said she liked one based on the fact that it covered my tat more lol.   BUT when I got the tat she was all about it and loved it lol.  I plan on etting the other side done in a few weeks πŸ™‚

I think it’s awesome! People totally hate on tattoos ESP half sleeves on women, it’s so annoying!!! I have something similar, each flower is a birth flower for a member of my family, plan on adding a peony to symbolize our engagement, a carnation for FH birth month, and California Poppys to represent my home state πŸ™‚ As long as you love it. thats what matters!!!

It’s not my favorite stylistically, but I don’t look at it think of it negatively, I suppose. I think what really doesn’t do it for me is the red/white/blue theme with the stars, as well as the swirl.

@vorpalette:  I agree. I hate 4 out of 5 of my tattoos!

My first thought seeing the tattoo above is: “it looks big.” I dont think that is a bad thing but it IS big.

@lilcupofcherries:  I actually love sleeves/half sleeves on women, as long as they’re well done. Yours is gorgeous.

Since you’re asking for honesty, I honestly don’t like it that much.  The big star looks like it was an old tattoo that you tried to incorporate into a new tattoo.  It could be the pic but the colors aren’t that vivid.  I don’t like stars personally and I think it would have looked nicer with ONLY the flowers and leaves & blue background but with no outlines around the flowers. I’m no expert but the flowers look like they’re more well done than the stars.
