I just got my wedding band last week. I don’t think there will be any damage if both rings are gold and platinum isn’t a factor. I LOVE the mixing. Its much less traditional so my Fiance and mom were unsure about it too, but they ended up liking it in person.

I actually have a platinum e-ring and wedding band.  However, just a few days ago, I purchased some really fun, rose-gold-plated-sterling-silver fashion rings that I want to mix with my wedding set when I wear my other rose gold jewelry, and I really like the way they look together!

@Brooke1226:  me too! Both of my rings are white gold but I’m almost positive that my next ring will be rose gold (and maybe with peach/pink stones if I’m brave.)

My jeweler never advised me against mixing metals. There are many different companies that make mixed gold rings and other jewelry so I don’t think they would do that if it had the potential to be damaged.

just make sure your two rings have the same type of metal (14k or 18k). I would not combine a 14k with a 18k because this way one ring would be softer than the other and the softer one can be damaged.

I’m a huge fan of mixing white metals with rose gold!!! Here’s a ring I wear with stacked white and rose bands and another rose gold band I wear alone. Any two rings worn together will wear each other out in time, even with the same metal. Soldering is a great option to consider! I love my soldered set (not pictured here) and I got myself some single bands to wear alone when I want to wear something simple.

@mrstaylortobe:  Yes!! Pink stones are the best. Would you mind sharing which ring you are going to get?

I have a rose gold spacer for my set! I need to take a better picture one of these days…
