Let me start with, I HATE not having a dishwasher. It is a must have for our next house.
But, I feel like I am doing dishes everyday. Literally, if I skip a day it gets out of control. But I just feel like that is much more frequent than it should be.
How often do you find yourselves doing dishes?

When I didn’t have a dishwasher, I washed dishes after every meal. I can’t stand having dirty dishes in the sink — personal pet peeve of mine!

We wash dishes at least once a day. We don’t want them in the sink or lying around. You pretty much have to keep up with them as you use them because then it’s not so bad.

We do the dishes everyday or every other day depending on how many there are. Usually I do them since my Fiance hates doing dishes even more than I do ahah.

The only things I wash in the sink are pots and pans so I only do dishes when we cook a big meal basically. Some stuff we make we don’t need pots/pans and only use something that can go in the dishwasher.

This is what my mother has done for her entire life. She has never had a dishwasher and really doesn’t think she has room for one in her kitchen. I really wish she had one.
I HAVE a dishwasher, and, when everyone (DH, two stepchildren, and me) is here, I load it at least once — sometimes three times — a day. I really do not like to hand wash anything if I can possibly avoid it. I am very, very, very thankful for my dishwasher. I hope you are able to have one soon.

I hate doing dishes. Hate, Hate, Hate! I will let them pile up, then just do them all. So, when my schedule isn’t so bad, I do them about twice a week. My Hubby and I finally gave in and bought a portable dishwasher, which he is picking up right now. Yey for me!, and for the pile of dishes in my kitchen right now. :O

I can’t imagine not having a dishwasher…but, having anything in the sink at all, is a total pet peeve of mine, so I can confidently say I’d always do dishes after every single meal. This may sound too anal, but when I think of plates or silverware in the sink, I think of it attracting bugs and freak out.

I have lived in 4 houses/apartments since moving out of my parents, and none of them had dishwashers, and I always said, “I don’t care if I live in a dump, it BETTER have a dishwasher!” I think I hated doing dishes more than anyone else on this planet. One time, when I lived with 2 other roommates, it was my turn to do the dishes, and I put it off for so long, we had no clean dishes left to use. So instead of just washing them, I put them all in a trash bag and drove them over to my parent’s and had them put them in their dishwasher! Omg, looking back it was such a horrible thing to do, but now that I FINALLY have a dishwasher, I vow to never handwash a dish again. Luckily I have a Fiance who loves me and will wash the stray dish for me!
So anyway, I definitely relate. Doing dishes everyday is not realistic, for me atleast, or for anyone who has a job or life. I always tried washing every dish RIGHT after each meal, but it just never happened…..

My husband does them 90% of the time — I put them away, he washes. But we both can’t WAIT to buy a house and get a dishwasher.

@auggiefrog: This is how I am! Our dishes are piled up in the sink as I speak… and we’ve actually been using paper plates in order to not add anymore to it. I have to do them, I know. Other things just get in the way sometimes. Lol.
Portable dishwasher though? I have never heard of that! How much are they and where can I get one?!?

We have a dishwasher, and we never use it. It’s probably bc we’re Asian but growing up neither of our families ever used them except for storing dishes. lol Usually we do dishes about 1-2 times a day. It’s not that big of a deal bc there’s only two of us.

I have a dishwasher and dishes still end up piling up in the sink. I may not be washing the dishes but loading and unloading the dishwasher is still a pain in the butt , I actually find hand washing easier sometimes. Quite often I end up having to load the dishwasher and then hand wash the remaining dishes just so that I can catch up and have an empty sink and there is only two of us

On average 3 times a day.
