@lawbride88:  I broke my leg running. I could swim before well enough to not die in a triathlon but was not spectacular. Having months down from running with nothing but deep water running and swimming fixed my swimming. I did my 1200 swim in 50 minutes, thats .9 miles 2 years before the leg break. The half iron a year after I did the 1.25 miles in 40 minutes. I wasnt even pushing the pace there 😀 I can haul behind in a pool putting a mile in laps in about 25 minutes.

lawbride88:  So glad to see other runners on here!  Can I ask you guys–how does this water retention thing work?  I’ve been a runner all my life, usually running about 7 miles per day.  I had a terrible plantar fasciitis bit that threw me off for a year, so now I am running 3-4 miles per day.  I’ve been doing this about 3 months.  My bloating is ridiculous!!!!!  So I need to drink a lot of water and it’ll all be fine, right?  Anything else?  Why does running cause so much bloating?  It never happened to me before, so I’ve never thought about it.

lawbride88:   utgirlie:    I also have a problem where I retain water (in hot weather), even though I’m in good shape. I was worried my feet would swell. my friend recommended that I eat lots of watermelon a few days leading up to the event, including the morning of. total folk remedy, but I swear it works better than water alone! I didn’t feel bloated, and my feet didn’t swell at all that entire day.

4 weeks prior, my fiance and I have cut out all grains (pasta, rice, bread etc) and I won’t lie, it sucks. Just trying to eat really, really clean.

Continue with our exercise but up it from 4x a week at the gym to 6x a week.

No alcohol until the day of the wedding.

I’ve also stopped wearing foundation for the last 2 months to work and it has really made a difference to my skin.

Hoping doing these things will help me shave off the couple of cm I want to shift around the waist and my skin will be really clear.

Well I’m now two months out and had planned to start doing these things far in advance, but work and life got in the way :p Here is my list:

3 facials- one late April; one late May; one late June for July wedding

Crest whitening strips- 1 box now, 1 box in late June

2 waxing appts- one in mid-May, one late-June (bikini, underarm, face)

Working out and eating better- trying not to be too militant about this but have lost a few pounds already and hope to lose 6-8 more in the next 2 months!

I am getting married this sunday!! I did facial about 8 weeks before

Keritan I did two weeks ago

Color I am doing tommorow as well as waxing

Nails saturday.

I started no/extremly low carb today. Water water water is all I am drinking!!

Started whiening with molds i had made at the dentist today.

I am 18 days from my wedding and the week before i will be cutting carbs (for bloat!) My face always looks less puffy and fresher when i live on fish, salads, lean meat and fruit.

Its something i really should do already but i think id find it hard to cut out Everything else permanently!

Water water water! Already started on this…:)

I have the week off work so will be focusing on good sleep, looking after my nails and applying foot balm every night on my heels as they are a little dry. i use a pumice stone in the shower so they arent terrible, but foot balm will really improve them.

I am getting extensions next week! YAY!

And i will use a teeth whitener set from the grocery store for about $15. I can use it each night leading up to the wedding. you only put the gauard in your mouth for 10 minutes, 🙂

Great thread! 


I will be: 


– getting my teeth whitened about a week before 


-hair coloured a week before along with a fresh set of extensions


– nails and pedi Afew days before 


–  cut out carbs about 4 days before – I’m slim

already I don’t want to look ILL! 


– sunbathe a lot in the week coming up to it!! 


quick question : does drinking alot of water decrease bloating? I never knew this!
