@Ms. Peach: Your mother thinks Jennifer Aniston should lose weight. Wow!

I wouldn’t say my mom is a bad mother, just that she can be critical about appearance. We’ve talked some about her hypercriticality (is that a word?), and she has gotten better.

@kaylee26: I should have clarified that by saying the early “Friends” Jennifer Aniston when she had a little meat on her, but still. Yeah. My mom is crazy. She joined Weight Watchers as a size 10. She’s a big part of the reason I’m a secret shame eater. I used to hide candy and sweets in a shoe box in my room when I was younger. I wasn’t even overweight then. Even now, I sometimes hide when I’m eating from my Fiance. He could care less what I eat, but it’s a weird thing I have to get over.

ETA – I actually watch old Friends eps and think how cute Jennifer Aniston was back in the day. She had such a cute, curvy body back then!  🙂

@Ms. Peach: Ah. I use to be a closet eater. Whenever my mom would leave the house I could finally eat…and I would binge, and throw up. It continued throughout highschool, into college (even when I wasn’t living at home–I’d eat secretly)…until I found out I was pregnant, then I figured I could eat whatever my little heart desired. But I was wrong about that one.

@Ms. Peach: Yes, Jennifer looked better on the early seasons than she did later on. I actually think she looks better now than she did at the end of Friends.

@kaylee26:  I agree! She looks healthier now. I think she’s beautiful. I hope I look that good in my 40’s. Although, my own personal trainer/yoga instructor would be nice too!

@Heatherloveskenny: I’m afraid of what I’ll be like with food when I’m pregnant. If there is anything to the cravings thing, my Fiance better be prepared. As it is now, when I get a chocolate craving I’m prepared to take someone out for a candy bar! LOL!

I’m so sorry so many people have such bad relationships with their mothers and families.  🙁

If you’re feeling a bit confrontational next time you get a remark like that from your parents you can look them square in the eye and tell them the truth.  That they should be nicer to their children.  You’re going to be picking their nursing home eventually.
