Wondering if anyone went to Belize for their honeymoon. Where did you stay? Did you like it? Tips? Im just starting my research on it so would love peoples opinions. Little back story on us: we like the beach but we enjoy outdoor activities as well. Sitting at a beach for more than two hrs is unacceptable to my Fiance so I need to keep him entertained too. So tell me ladies where did you go?

I have been to Belize twice and love it. Didn’t go for my honeymoon, but went on a wonderful vacation there a few years ago.
We stayed at Jaguar Reef which was a great beach resort near Hopkins Town. Nice pool/beach but also great excursions. We wnt snorkling, scuba diving, hiking and rapelling, zip lining and river tubing. They also had trips to the ruins at Tikal (amazing place, I went there the first time I was in Belize) as well as horse back riding and other activities. You can also rent bikes and bike into the nearby town for lunch or to browse the craft shops. There were many honeymooning couples there and even a wedding on the beach.
If you have any specific questions let me know.

I haven’t stayed in Belize, but we took a cruise that stopped in Belize City. If you end up staying anywhere near this area, I heartily recommend this tour company for cave tubing (it was so fun, and they were so great!): http://cavetubing.bz/

We’re also looking to honeymoon in Belize! Anyone else have any comments/recommendations?
@KatNYC2011: You pretty much sold me on Jaguar Reef. Are they paying you? Cuz if not, they should be. 😉 What would you recommend as far as getting around? Renting a car? Taking taxis? I read something about water taxis. Any experience with those?

@VeronicaVon: @skipanther: I spent a week and a half on Ambergris and Caulker Caye – they have really really great snorkeling and diving, but not a lot of other stuff to do (pretty small islands, some fun beach bars). We also went cave tubing, which was super sweet!

@VeronicaVon: Haha, no they aren’t paying me. It was just a really great trip.
We stayed at the resort the whole time and all transport for the outings was provided by Jaguar Reef. They also provided airport transfers. We did ride bikes into town, but otherwise we didn’t have our own transport and didn’t feel we really needed it.
