We went to Belize on our honeymoon and it was incredilble! If you can, I would suggest staying half the trip inland in the jungle and half on one of the cayes (Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker).

Inland, we stayed at Maruba Resort Jungle Spa, which was absolutely incredible. They often have Groupon and Living Social deals, so keep an eye on that. The only issue with Maruba is that it is in the middle of nowhere, so it is a drive to get anywhere (the hotel staff will drive you, you do not need to worry about a rental car).  I have heard San Ignacio is really nice as well for inland. Mayan Ruins are a must-see!!

We stayed in San Pedro at Ambergris Caye and the town is fun. Great snorkeling and we went on a fishing trip as well. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel we stayed at (the accomodations just weren’t that great for a honeymoon) but we had a blast! Feel free to message me with any questions! Belize is amazing!!

Hey!  I am also on the hunt for honeymoon spots, but last year in May–I went with my now fiance and his family to Belize.  We stayed at Placencia Village and we were able to find an amazing villa called Villa Ranguana.  It has its own private beach and there are three separate rooms–I wonder i fyou could just rent out the main bedroom on the main floor for a less expensive price?  Anyway, it was unbelievable.  Went snorkeling, deep sea fishing, went to the Mayan ruins, went ziplining, had a really good bloody mary at the Barefoot Beach bar in the village.  Plus the food (the red snapper) was SO good.  All in all…it was just awesome.  Let me know if you have questions–happy planning 🙂
