Hey, do you have any photos to share with the hive?

Hmmm, someone who never posted before and didn’t include photos… this looks like a FAKE REVIEW. I actually heard some negative things about Bella on this site from several other bees. I would not be surprised at all if someone from their company just posted this.

Isn’t that Bella that’s always giving away a package thru David’s Bridal?

Bella Pictures certainly has some beautiful shots on their website and I did try to work with them when I was first planning the wedding. I signed up on the website and then got a phone call from one of their photogs. I’m not sure how they match up people, but it seemed pretty random to me. Personally, I am not a fan of that. There is so much variation between one photog and another, how do you know you are getting someone with the same style as the pictures on their website?

And, they are most definitely EXPENSIVE! I *think* the cheapest package was about $4,500, but I don’t remember what that includes and the website won’t let me look it up without signing up for stuff.

I’m sure there are people who have truly had great experiences with them, and not trying to discourage people from using them, just giving my honest opinion!

My sister used Bella Pictures and I think her photographs were not very good.  They paid a lot, had 2 photogs with unlimited photos…. but what they got back was mostly crap.  Sorry to be blunt about it, but it’s true.  What good are 3000 photos that hardly any are good?  Also, the formals group pictures were terribly lit.  None of them came out well (all had a yellow tint b/c the lighting was poorly done), and the editing didn’t do anything for them.  Bad review for Bella from this family.

I have heard negative things about Bella as well. I think posing as a bride to advertise your business on Weddingbee is a bit desperate 🙂

Okay, so this same person posted this exact message twice in one day on theknot.com as well (again a newbie and they were her only two posts). That’s really sad and I’m really surprised Mr. Bee hasn’t taken this down yet.

LBPhotography – I agree that the post looks suspicious!

But in all honesty, if this poster is spamming… leaving up the post with all these comments will probably hurt them more than anything else.

If this is a genuine post, the poster has a chance to clarify that and also share pics!

I agree on the suspiciousness and would like to add my own review of Bella:

Met with awesome consultant.  So nice.  Prices were similar to other photogs in the area.  I found it uncomfortable that you don’t meet your actual photographer until the 15 minute engagement session or if you opt out of that, the wedding.

I got a call about 2 weeks later from a different girl who said my consultant was out of town because of family issues and she wanted to follow up with me.  She kept talking and talking without letting me a get a word in and I eventually said that I would call if I had any questions, not to call me anymore.

Two calls from them later, I had to forcibly tell the girl not to ever call me again.

It was like commando sales!  Their pictures might be great? But I was totally put off by their sales tactics.

The reason I wouldn’t hire Bella is that there’s zero artistic editing done on the images by the photographer.. The photographer has to turn in all of the unedited files to Bella, and has no control on the images after that.  For most people, it’s the post-processing/artistic editing that a photographer does to their images that really makes them special, and with Bella you don’t get that, you just get plain old straight out of the camera photos (I think they convert some to black and white).
