I think any thin paper would work well!  Maybe go to Michaels (or somewhere similar) and see what kinds of paper they have in your color?

I would use glue dots! You can get them for pretty cheap at Michael’s and they’re super easy to use. I’d say any cardstock type paper would be fine.

I agree that glue dots or one of the adhesive strip dispensers would probably hold up the best. I think cardstock might be too thick for a belly band. You might be better off with a text weight paper. Since your pocketfold is 6×6 you will probably need a strip of paper at least 12.5 or 13 inches long.

I used text weight paper, and it was fine! I also used double-sided tape.

I just finished making mine (I used C&P pocketfolders too). I used ribbon for mine. I made tags from cardstock with our guests’ names, and stuck them on the ribbon with double-sided tape. They slip right on and slip off somewhat easily.

I am just going to recommend the 3M ATG glue gun. I use one for scrapbooking, and it’s crazy awesome, way easier than dots and more affordable too. I feel like I am promoting 3M because I just recommended in another thread, but it’s just the best option by far. Glue dots get really expensive!

Hi! We are using 6 x 6 pocketfolds as well. For the belly bands, I ordered 11 x 17 white linen paper from Paper & More. I’ve ordered many products from them (in addition to Cards & Pockets) and they’ve been great to deal with. We will be cutting them ourselves and attaching them with glue dots- I’ve also used the adhesive squares before which work well. You could use legal size paper as well, but I couldn’t find I liked in the texture/color. Good luck!

I wrote a post about our invite belly bands here:

http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/01/17/diy-invite-bellyband/

I used vellum paper (lighter and thinner) and attached the two ends with double stick tape. You’ll need to plan what you want to cover the attachment of the belly band (ie a monogram or date or something) unless you want the belly band to be attached in the back. Good luck:)

wait a second- I just realized that I told you I used double stick tape. I didn’t- I used double sided mounting tape to create a lift. Oops! There are pictures on the post!
