Hi everyone, I’m new here so please forgive me if my question has been answered already (I just couldn’t find a specific post relating to my question or maybe didn’t look hard enough). I bought a mermaid-shape tulle dress by mori lee with lace-up (corset) back..beautiful! I already contacted my seamstress to add a bustle for when it comes in. My dilemma is this: I’ve been looking for rhinestone/pearl belts to complement my dress (it has no beading whatsoever, and I wanted some), however I’ve been finding only the ones where you tie a sash around the back…Would this work with a corset back and bustle? To be honest, I don’t mind the sash but I really wanted the bustle as well. Any ideas?
If anyone has done this with their dress, do you mind posting a picture so I can have an idea? Thank you very much.

I had a sash belt with my corset back (also a Mori Lee dress). I don’t have a good picture of the bustle but here is the sash from the back. They actually sewed my sash to my dress in the front because I like to fiddle. ETA: I think they would be able to tuck the back of the sash into the dress if you don’t want the tails hanging off. They can do some pretty amazing alterations these days.

Welcome to Weddingbbees and Congrats 🙂 David’s Bridal has a nice online store. Some people likes them and some don’t. I’ve had good luck with them. I ordered my wedding dress 9v8835 from there.

I didnt have a corset back but I did have a tulle mermaid dress, a bustle and a sash. I personally liked how the sash looked, but you could always ask your seamstress to stitch the front of the belt onto your dress to avoid the ribbon at the back.

Thanks so much! Sewing it to the front of the dress is a good idea! I’m looking at some options now and have contacted my seamstress to do it for me.

You can order trim only, and have that sewn right into your gown. Skip the ribbon all together. Or do a belt with a clasp closure:
