I am doing my wedding on 12-12-12! Yes, on a Wednesday! Our church/mass ceremony will begin at 5pm and our reception will start at 6:30pm-12midnight. Initially, I was so worried about booking anything wedding related on a Wednesday. Now that it is done- WOW- I am so happy with this. We have a small guest list to begin with (50-70max) and almost everyone has said they would definitely be there and we have yet to send out our “save the date” cards!!! Our priest laughed and said he has never done a Weds wedding and thought Friday was unusual. He is so happy since he will not feel rushed in anyway like Sat weddings. Our gorgeous venue by phone gave us one quote and in person they were so amazing and desperately ready to work with us. We got a fantastic deal! Normally they charge for bringing outside liquor -no charge. Charge for cake cutting- no charge. Charge 25% for service – no charge. This is the same caterers for the Kardasians events and weddings including Kim’s last event so I did not expect this at all! Our lighting costs $1000 but on a Weds it will be just $300! It is crazy! The best thing is staffing– we have the venue until 3am if we wanted and with security. On a weekend, I would get maybe 2hrs before and 30mins to vacate the premise after we are done. As for bringing anything into the venue (card boxes, favors, wishing tree, flowers, place cards, decor, chair covers whatever) they are giving us the go ahead to start the day before if we like. We were planning to hire someone to do all this during the day of the wedding but my fiance and I decided heck it would be fun and would be “perfectly done” if we just did it ourselves the night before! I will definitely come in way under budget in Los Angeles and without trying at all! I don’t know many brides that can say the same thing! I think we can take TWO honeymoons now!

I’ve toyed with a midweek wedding because I now the difference in cost is massive. Great job on your part though.

We had a sunday afternoon wedding. I realize a lot of people dont think of that as a weeknight but technically it is. I actually got a lot of push back and criticism for this. We also had a small guest list, same amount as you. Like 90% of people we invited came. The only ones that did not were because of my grandma passing two days prior. it ended up being a great day of the week for us to have a wedding…
I thikn a wednesday night is a great night for a wedding. We actually almost had a wednesday wedding but my family through a fit so we didnt…UGH

We’re doing a Monday afternoon/evening. It’s saving us a TON of money!!! Plus, in Vegas, there are always so many events going on that it’s much cheaper for the guests as far as accomodations, transportation, etc. After going through some of the planning, I’m super glad we picked an “off” day and can’t imagine trying to fight for a weekend!

Huh, there were no deals for different days of the week where we chose!
Good luck and what a fun date!

wow that’s great! congratulations on your super awesome deals! we’re from a small town, which is where our wedding will be held, so the prices were super low already and then most places are giving us a military discount. our reception venue is only 150$.

we’re doing a Weds eve too! it’s the Weds before the August long weekend here, so it’s great because we aren’t interfering with anyone’s long weekend plans.
and we got 60% off the regualr venue rental price! and no stress over any vendors. plus, we didn’t want a late night rager with everyone getting really drunk, as often happens with that Sat nite energy. we are also hoping that the date will deter some people from coming, since we want to keep it small, but didn’t want to offend anyone by not inviting them!
