I’m pretty sure that airlines are universally terrible.

A friend of mine just flew on US with her dress and had no problems.

@auroraborealis:  buy a seat for it. Tongue Out Kidding! I would think there would be a small closet somewhere on any airline. I think airlines have just gotten worse in general over the years. Best of luck, I hope you find a good solution!

We flew to Jamaica for our Destination Wedding on US Air and I didnt have any problems with my dress, but I did travel with it in a garmet bag and my dress was folded in half and then placed up in the overhead storage.  We couldnt fly first class down as it was super expensive.  But when we checked ourselves in online the day before our flight, I purchased us “front-of-the-line” boarding passes for $10 each, which meant that we could board after first class and before coach and that ensured us that we had room in the overhead storgae before everyone else boarded and took our overhead storgae space.  There was no way that I was checking my dress and thankfully I didnt have too.

I flew jet blue with my dress and they also do not have a closet. The flight attendants were very rude and didn’t help me at all. I had to lay my dress over other peoples luggage in an overhead bin. My dress ended up being fine but I was on my way to my wedding and would not have had any time to steam it again.
