Oh this is gonna be tough…

you are in FL which is a short plane ride to most of the best all inclusives of the caribbean!

Is there a certain island or area you are thinking will suit you best?

I love Mexican AI resorts but that’s mostly because its the shortest/most affordable flight from LA and you can use USD for tipping and there are a LOT of activities and etc.

Cheapest AIs are found on Cuba, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mexico… this comes down to their various political and economic situations.  Not awful, if you are the type of person that is ok going on vacation and don’t mind not leaving the resort property.

Personally, that would drive me squirrelly… so I look to spend a tad more, and vacation elsewhere.

Hope this helps,

Unfortunately my favorite may not be yours and you may be totally dissapointed. I suggest you contact a travel professional that can help you find something based on your personality, needs and wants….

My husband and I had an awesome honeymoon at Couples San Souci. I would HIGHLY recommend it! I’ve also been to a few of the Palace Resorts in Mexico — super nice, but I’d aim for an adults-only one for a honeymoon!

We’re going to Sandals Whitehouse Jamaica in July for our HM. We liked it becasue it’s secluded (its located on a 500 acre nature preserve with no other resorts near it) and it was in our budget of $4,000

Good Luck!

My travel agent highly suggested Couples Resorts in Jamaica and now Barbados. We are going to Couples Swept Away. It looks absolutely beautiful, in budget, and has great reviews. Remember to take everything you read on trip advisor with a grain of salt. The Couples Resorts has their own message board, and many mnay people on there are gearing up for their 10th+ trip. The way I see it, that many repeats can’t be wrong! If you have any questions about them, feel free to send me a message, I did A LOT of research before making the decision.

@Smileygabby:  i’m not sure what your budget is but i would suggest mexico over bahamas.  you get a lot more for your money.

there are a lot of all-inclusives in cancun and riviera maya that are very reasonable.

check out trip advisor.

@SoonToBeMrsDonnieW:  WOW that is exciting news, Couples getting into the Barbados market.

Almond Beach Resorts were the only all-inclusives on the island of any prominence, and they were not by all accounts doing well (Barbados not needing to rely on AIs).

So Couples taking over one of their properties (Almond Beach Casuarina) will probably be a good move for Couples, in that there are no other similar item for purchase on the island (ie Sandals, Beaches etc)

Barbados is a great honeymoon destination… so a resort that offers that as an AI, with all the well known Couples Amenities will probably do well… and be popular for a Destination Wedding / Elopement etc

Makes total sense to me.

@This Time Round:  I know, I wish I would have known when we booked. I would have totally went there instead of Jamaica! Oh well, there is always anniversaries 🙂

We’re going to the Sandals Grande Ocho Rios in Jamaica! Flying out from La Guardia, staying 7 nights, and it’s costing us (with airfare) just about $3000. Can’t wait!!!!!
