The Royal is on my top three list of honeymoon spots. Haven’t been there, but it looks amazing! A girl I know went when they first opened and she loved it.

@MackInChiCity:  Well that is exciting to hear since I just booked our honeymoon there!! I haven’t been personally but our TA highly recommended the el dorado royale. I also tend to put a lot of weight on trip advisor ratings and it hasn’t led me wrong yet for past trips

Our honeymoon is probably going to be at The Royal in Cancun! The pictures are gorgeous and the reviews on Trip Advisor are great!

Also, on one of the recent Four Weddings the honeymoon trip was to The Royal in Cancun! It must be nice if TLC is sending the winning couple there!!!

I was JUST looking at a trip to Cancun last night! The Royal is on the top of my list, as is Le Blanc Resort. My friend stayed at Le Blanc and LOVED it. It’s just a little pricier than I’d like. I’m currently debating if AI is worth it or not…

We haven’t gone yet, but we are staying at the Fiesta Americana Condesa, AI for 6 days/5 nights for $2500 (total). I’ve been religiously reading reviews, mostly on Trip Advisor, and people go and on about how wonderfull this resort is.. I’ve never read reviews for other resorts that were this positive. I would maybe check it out, if you’re still open to looking at other places. I am beyond excited to be staying there!!

The Royal! I stayed at their Playa del Carmen location and LOVED it! I’m sure the one in Cancun is just as awesome.

i stayed at the solaris in cancun in 1997.  not sure if it’s the same one but there are 2 next door to each other.  tbh, there’s probably better resorts to choose from.

i spend a lot of time along that coast.  i recently stayed at an older hotel in cancun that was “completely renovated” but it was not nearly as nice as most of the newer resorts along the coast.  sometimes they consider a fresh coat of paint to be a reno.  the rooms/bathrooms were very old and dated.

so, that being said, i would stay away from the solaris.  not sure about the royal.  find out when they were built.

do you want to stay directly in cancun?  the live aqua is gorgeous.  i went there for a private tour of the hotel and their facilities.  it’s right across from the outdoor mall.

you may want to check out puerto morelos just south of cancun.  there are some wonderful resorts there and so close to cancun.  you can take a taxi to cancun or to playa del carmen.

pm me if you have any questions.

@ReyDar64:

I’m getting married at Dreams Cancun, and we’ve been there before, it’s a great resort. It is right at the tip and has a nice beach and good food (all inclusive). I like it because you can walk easily to the stores and bars in the spring break zone.

We have also stayed at the JW Marriott, the pools there were large with adult only areas but it was not all inclusive.

Next door to Dreams is the Fiesta Americana, we never stayed there but we did walk over and inspect the grounds. The hotel is beautfiul and they have a lot of pools.

I’m not sure if these are in Cancun exactly, but Excellence or Secrets Maroma are very highly regarded.
