Going to start temping soon! I feel like the thermometers I have had in the past (just regular temp taking for sickness) were not very accurate. Anyone have suggestions on which one to get? I am also willing to spend some $$ too, making sure they are accurate. Thank you!

I have this one. To be honest, they are all kind of the same. I like one with a backlight (which this one has). Some prefer one that goes to the hundreth. For me, I found it didn’t make a difference so mine only goes to the tenths.

I started with an actual basal thermometer. It took a full minute to read, was constantly beeping, was very annoying and I started taking my temperature every second day.
I switched to this: http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/vicks-behindear-gentle-touch-thermometer/6000100070395 , a behind-the-ear 1 second thermometer. I was still able to accurately chart, clearly saw a temperature spike, and was never tempted to skip days. Might not work for everyone but it worked for me!

the life brand thermometer cost something like $15 and though i just started using it, seems to work well for me (see review at link below):

I got the basal thermometer off makeababy.ca
I like it because it only beeps quietly when it’s done reading, rather than beeping every few seconds while reading (which many thermometers do), so it’s much less disruptive to my husband on weekends when he doesn’t have to get up early. It’s not backlit, but it saves the last temp so I record it later when I get up.
