As many of you probably know, I just started weight watchers this past weekend! And when I was talking to my Leader after my meeting on Saturday I came to the conclusion that the best way for me to be successful with the program would be to find completely new foods instead of trying to substitute what I was eating before for something that has a lower point value. So this morning for breakfast I tried something completely new (I had calculated the points value last night), and let me tell you, it is freakin delicious. So, here’s the breakdown:
- 1/2 cup of Fat Free Greek Yogurt: 65 cal, 0 fat, 0 fiber
- 1/2 cup cut up strawberries: 25 cal, .25 fat, 1.5 fiber
- 1/2 a banana (cut up) : 52 cal, .2 fat, 1.6 fiber
- 1/2 cup Kashi “Go Lean Crunch” granola : 100 cal, 2.25 fat, 4 fiber
That means there is a grand total of 242 calories, 3 g fat, and 7.1 g fiber or 4 ww points. And let me tell you, it is DELICIOUS! I cut up all my strawberries yesterday and put them in a tupperware so that I could use them throughout the week, then I put all my ingredients in a little tupperware this morning and brought them to work. While I was making it, fi looks at it and goes “I want a 4 point parfait too!” hahaha
And I’m sitting here at my desk enjoying this, and just had to share! Greek yogurt is more expensive then normal yogurt, but in my mind it is totally worth it. It’s so creamy and delicious and perfect for a parfait-type meal. And if I hadn’t started the program, I probably never would have even tried this, I would have just kept eating bagel thins with peanut butter.
Do you guys have any recipes/meals that are low points but absolutely DELICIOUS?
