I don’t do cardio DVDs at home (something about the whole house shaking every time I jump up and down…) but my mom does the Zumba DVDs at home, she loves them and she is really getting in to it!

I also have a coworker who lost a ton of weight recently and swears by the Insanity program.

It’s the most intense cardio I’ve ever done. AND it’s good strength training as well.

I do this kettlebell kickboxing class here in new york and also have the dvds (4 dvds in the set) for when I can’t make it to her studio.  It is the BEST workout I’ve ever done.  For at home, one 15lb kettlebell is all you really need.  If you’ve read any of the fitness research, they all show that kettlebell training is pretty much the most effective way to workout.  Strength training and crazy calorie burn all in one.

I know i sound like i work there, but seriously, I just love this workout!

Insanity is the best cardio workout on the planet.  It’s so hard that I can’t even do it, and I usually speed walk on the treadmill at a 12% incline for 60 minutes!  Google it.  It is seriously insane.

If Insanity is too hard, I also recommend P90X.  It’s a lot more strength training than it is cardio, but it has some AMAZING cardio routines too.  And if you don’t take a lot of breaks during the strength training days, it gets your heart pumping and feels like cardio!  I’m addicted to P90X.  It’s so much FUN, which I never thought working out could be.

@PinkL:  Sorry, didn’t even see the other posts.  Told you Insanity is good; everyone is recommending it.  😉

Insantiy and P90X are Beachbody products.  You can buy them here: Insanity & P90X.

Insanity is great for cardio. P90x is an overall workout. I like both for the different things they offer. Insanity is harder than P90x mind you!
