So Fiance and I will be getting married in October in Nebraska, sunset in october is usually around 630-7pm at that time of year…..sometimes 8….if your lucky….we are debating on what time to have our ceremony start at….we were debating at like 4 ish…since our reception hall wants us to shut it down at midnight….(which we are fine with alot of older family and we dont go out much and want to be fresh for family breakfast the next morning and possibly leaving fo our honeymoon that next day…
so we are debating here:
what do you think is a good time for a fall wedding (ceremony) to start….reception will follow immediately afterwards….our ceremony should be 45 minutes or less! im hoping right around 30 minutes.
sooo lets here what your ideas are ladies!

@kansas_nurse: Your doing your bridal party/couple photos before the ceremony then? Or during the cocktail hour that will start right after the ceremony? I would say 5 might be too late with a long ceremony, making it close to dinner time and leaving your guests hungry.
4:45 Cocktail hour/bridal party photos
Then other stuff.

@kansas_nurse: We started our October wedding at 4 p.m and the sun sets in Arizona around those times during October as well…The ceremony took about 45 minutes and we wanted a hours worth of pictures. We were chasing the light so if you want more pictures then I would start around 3 or 3:30
EDIT: Everything (light wise) turned out great but we did only get an hour of pictures. If you want more then I would start earlier than 4 but you would be Okay if you DID start at 4

@Pixienickie: hmm yeah i didnt think how close that was going to get to dinner if i pushed it off to like 5pm….our ceremony shouldnt be too long but we do want to leave time after for some pictures with bridal party and things of that nature….i may just have to go the 4pm route…..since we are doing majority pictures before just to leave us some wiggle room and we can play and extend the cocktail hour abit….hmmm….thanks for pointing that out i was really leaning towards starting at 5pm…but i dont want people hungry….
