@BellaDee:  I had to giggle at the low taxes.  Sorry, but I do wish you the best of luck in the aspect! =)

Have you guys looked at any particular towns yet?  Are you looking to stay close to NY?

@BellaDee:  I’m in Ocean, but not far from Monmouth.  I was just in Eatontown on Tuesday.  =) I was going to suggest a town in Monmouth because it’s as far as I know about towns in Jersey.  Good luck!

I had to laugh at the low taxes as well.  I grew up in South Jersey and yeah no such thing there!

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy:  My grandmom’s house taxes in Stratford (Camden County) are well over 5K. Larger in other towns in that area, but still!  It’s where I grew up.  I loved that area, but knowing that, I don’t think I could ever live there.  I had to tell Future Mother-In-Law to stop complaining about paying $800 quarterly in Ocean County.  Haha.

Ok the low taxes request is making me giggle. We’re looking at townhouses in Clifton and taxes are 10k+. So upsetting. Franklin Lakes is right there but I doubt you can get something for 320… maybe a short sale?

@LGenz:  Franklin Lakes – I wish!  She could buy Theresa from Real Housewives of NJ’s house. 😉 and then hang out with that crew.  Hahaha.

I am not sure hwo close you want to be to Mahwah, and what you’re looking for, but I used to work near Morristown NJ adn that is a pretty cute, young town. Ther’s lots to do and it’s a nice place.

If you wanted somethign with more of a family vibe (not sure waht stage you guys are in), I have a few cousins in Emerson and always liked it…it’s kind of a random place but I always thought it seemed homey and down to earth, and they all have super adorable houses.

Ridgewood is super nice but really expesnive I think

Also I am with you on Long Branch- I used to live and work around there but my dream is to one day get back to Long Branch/Red Bank etc…although it seems like there are 0 jobs in Monmouth County…maybe Westfield one day if we have to stay north!

@BellaDee:  Yeah, I’m not too sure of the towns up that way.  I know the further you go, more money you’ll spend.  FI’s aunt and uncle own a garbage company (Pinto) and they live in those big fancy houses and stuff up there.  Ugh.  I want to get into the garbage business.  Hahhaha.  I’m surprised she’s not a real housewife of NJ yet.
