Thanks bees for taking the time to break this all down for me. I always get weary about having too many credit cards but it’s way better to get the cash back and pay it right away since it all comes out right away anyway. I appreciate all the suggestions! I’ve googled what’s been shared so far and will discuss with hubby later.

I’m learning some useful things here! I use the Capital One Quicksilver Card, which is 1.5% cash back on everything, no rotating categories and no annual fees. I like it because it’s simple and includes a $150 cash bonus if you spend $500 in the first three months (Which…you will…of course). But that Citi Double Cash card is looking awfully nice…

SilvanArrow : the cap one quicksilver used to be our go-to general card until the double points came out! definitley worth switching (: we still have the quicksilver (in most instances, it doesn’t make sense to actually close accounts, just stop using them) but rarely use it. i know there’s *something* super random that we still use it for occasionally…i want to say maybe that it has no forgein transaction fees when travelling internationally?
