I really, really liked Huggies.  But, I wouldn’t buy too many, because there is a chance that you’ll have a strong preference.  Like, I HATE Pampers.  So much so that when they put one on Dirty Delete at her doc appointments, I change them when I get home.

As far as size, i would wait until LO is born, and see what the weight is.  DD was in Newborn diapers (not even size 1) for a month and a half.  So you can buy some Newborn and some 1, and then return the newborns if you have a big baby, or you can wait.

We used Pampers Sensitive on DS (he has really sensitive skin) when he was an infant and then switched to Huggies when he was a bit older; the Huggies were better for leak protection when he started sleeping 6-8+ hours at a time, but that’s less of a concern in the early months.  Ditto PP; it depends on the birth weight and how much they lose.  DS was born 7lbs4oz but dropped to 6lbs9oz in the hospital and ended up in newborn size for a full month, but we never could have predicted that.  I’d get the big boxes of size 1-2 since you know you’ll need lots of those and then see how it goes with the smaller sizes.

We just switched to cloth, but when we were doing disposibles for the first 6 weeks, we liked “Huggies Little Snugglers”. Pampers were okay too, we had some that the hospital gave us, but they seemed to fit smaller than the weights listed on the package. (When newborn size Pampers were too small, the newborn size Huggies still fit him for a couple more weeks.)

We also tried Luvs and Up&Up (Target), hated them. Both were thin and not soft. And Luvs are scented, even though it doesn’t say that anywhere on the package. Thankfully Target let us return both packages even though they were open.

Side Note: On diapers, make sure the ruffles and elastic are both pulled out around the legs. I couldn’t figure out why we were having leaks, and I felt like an idiot when I realized I had to run my finger around the leg elastic to get it in proper position.

@abbyful:  MrDane wants to explore the cloth diaper idea a bit more.  To avoid threadjacking, would you please PM me any good cloth diaper resources, reviews, suggestions, etc…?  Or if there’s a significant interest on the Bee, start a new thread?  Thanks!!

@abbyful:  It took me way longer than 6 weeks to figure that out.  You wouldn’t think diapers would need instructions, and yet…
