I am a huge Coke Zero and Diet Dr. Pepper fan, but my new love is Diet Cheerwine when I’m not being good and drinking my water.

I with MissCamera, diet soda really isn’t any better for you than regular soda. Your body thinks you’re consuming sugar and reacts as if you were but then is sorely disappointed when it finds there aint no sugar there. The only benefit is fewer calories, but the stuff makes you crave sugar, so you end up consuming more calories anyway. Really, stay away from it if you’re trying to lose weight. It’s the best thing you can do for your body. The stuff eats your bones too.

But easy for me to say, I haven’t touched a can of soda since I was like 10 and I never liked the stuff. I can’t burp, so it just makes me sick and quite honestly, I think it tastes like you’re drinking sugar and it’s pretty nasty.

I"m personally addicted to Diet coke with a fresh lemon…..it convinces me that I’m getting a fruit serving too…but it’s good!

If you like Mountain Dew, try Diet Mountain Dew. I became an avid diet soda drinker in college, and it is by far the diet soda that most tastes like the original. Diet Cherry Coke is also awesome.

I too stopped drinking soda last Fall. Soda now is just too much for me. I tried it once at a restaurant and I got really sick from it and felt like I needed to constantly burp.

I guess my body is used to just water and fruit juice now. When I drank soda, however, my favorite was Diet Slice. 🙂

Miss Camera, one of my friends is one of the engineers who worked on development of splenda.  I’ve read "SB" and some of their data is supported scientifically..others NOT.  I think it’s safe.  My friend is an amazing and brilliant guy and he told me about splenda before it came out and how it is dietarily indistinguishable from sugar except it passes thru the body.

I am a health professional and I have no prob w/splenda.  Now if you ATE your weight in any substitute like the lab rats too, you’d get a nasty side effect also.

As for me, I can tell a HUGE difference b/w real coke and diet or coke zero.  I can immediately taste the sugar in the real coke.

I’m all about Cherry Coke Zero!  I can also taste a difference between diet and regular pop, but I’ve been able to shift myself to diet drinks.  I still can’t stand diet pepsi though.

Ms. Peachy–what’s Cheerwine?

I’d say Fresca. It doesn’t even say diet on the can because it’s that good! And I recently discovered coke zero and it tastes a lot like coke, but even better I think! I also think trying to drink more water is a good idea though, because diet drinks are still bad for your body, it has to process all of the unnatural stuff!

Ahh..there are so many.  The diet coke with lemon is wonderful of course, as is diet dr. pepper and Fresca.  I also love the diet hansen’s drinks black cherry, root beer and tangerine.  I come home from Trader Joes with about three six packs every time.

Diet tonic…with or without gin:)  This probably makes me strange, but I love the bitterness + slightly sweet combo. Unfortunately it isn’t exactly widely available, so diet coke ends up fillng the void if I am not at home.
