I don’t know how far away Lady Margaret’s is from where you will be, but I had a wonderful experience there. I did make an appointment though. They are located at 10312 120th ST SE #12, Puyallup, WA 98374. I took in about 100 pictures of gowns that I liked and they found me one that I love. If you want their phone number, you can pm me. Oh, my gown is a Justin Alexander 8137. And I do think that they have some Maggies, but I am not 100% sure on that.

I wouldn’t miss I Do Bridal in Seattle, La Belle Elaines, I loved Luly Yang (but too pricey for me).  Marcellas, Volletta couture, and Belltown bride were other places I checked out.

I wouldn’t recommend the Princess Bride because of my bad experience there, but I know other board bees would (TPHoliday).  They do have nice dresses, they just weren’t straightforward with me.

Hope that helps!

I had good luck at Brides by Demetrios, and also liked I Do Bridal.

Belltown Bride is great; I didn’t go to I Do Bridal but I’ve heard lots of good things about them.

I guess it just depends on the bride. I had a HORRIBLE experience at I DO bridal.  They insisted they knew better, put me in only horrible satin gowns (all from the 80s) and when one finally fit decently they declared that was my gown and I should buy it instantly! It was disgusting, and the reason I even made an appt with them in the first place was because they insisted they had 3 out of the 5 gowns I was looking for IN MY SIZE! They had 1, it wasn’t the right color, they only had 1 in the right color and NONE were in my size.

That said I tried about 5 other stores before hitting up Princess Bride and they helped me the best.  I worked with Gail and I like her, she is prompt with emails, was able to get my dress customized (call up the designer personally) and just a great store, they are very reasonable in alteration pricing as well.  Fun store, it’s a bit weird to get into too, but I really enjoyed my experience and they let me take pictures! They even helped me get the best lighting for it 🙂

Cynderellie’s Closet is a very CUTE store, in Edmonds  and they were very sweet and a very nicely laid out store.  They make you feel as you are the ONLY customer so that was fun, and GREAT restaurants in Edmonds near by! I wish I could have given my service to them but they didn’t have the designer I ended up with.  They let you take pictures there as well.

La Belle Reve in Bellevue was good as well, didn’t have a very big selection in a wide price range.  No picture was allowed

Demetrios was ok, the dresses were very dingy so I didn’t like that and they kept trying to put me into things I said no too and would not LEAVE the changing room, which was just odd.

I had a LOT of success with Pearl’s & Lace in Burian (about 50 minutes South from Lynnwood) but she has a LOT of dresses in different sizes and what not.  VERY big store and very sweet (lots of Maggies) I’m buying my bridesmaid dresses from there b/c she helped me out so much. Pictures allowed and they help you get the best lighting too, (a huge wall of mirrors so when they take the picture you can see front and back of the dress)

I haven’t been to any of them but just from getting others opinions I know I will be visiting I DO BRIDAL (sample sale 1/31/10)and PEARLS AND LACE once I get ready to try on dresses. and if you haven’t decided on Bridesmaids dresses yet I wanted to recommend White House Black Market, they have a great selection of little black dresses to choose from and the service is THE best! There is one downtown Seattle but I work at the one in downtown Bellevue, you should stop in!

I had fantastic experiences at:

  • I Do
  • La Belle Elaine’s (I’d call this one a don’t-miss)
  • The Princess Bride
  • Belltown Bride

I wasn’t super into Cicada, downtown. But I didn’t really have an absolutely negative experience anywhere.

I went to Portland to get my dress, Divine Designs Laughing

I initially found my gown while visiting family in Dallas. Before I returned to Seattle I called La Belle Elaine’s and Marcellas and both were not too great over the phone. Yes it was only over the phone but I was spending a lot of money on this gown and if my phone conversations weren’t too great I didn’t want to continue.  The dress is on order, I saved almost $500 in taxes, and I also received an additional 10% discount.

I loved Belltown Bridal.  The woman who owns it, Melissa was amazing.  I hated Davids Bridal when we looked for bridesmaid dresses.  The employees were nice enough, but the quality of the dresses was awful.  I don’t think they liked us much when my friend exclaimed “I have better quality dresses from Forever 21” …yikes!

I didnt like I Do Bridal either, probably because I went there after Belltown Bridal and found…well.. the dresses to not come close to matching the quality of the Badgley Mishka I ended up purchasing at Belltown.  And yes, the prices were about the same.

I would definitely suggest Belltown Bridal and I Do Bridal as well. If at all possible, you should head to Portland! I tried on dresses in Seattle since I don’t have a lot of time to head to Portland for dress shopping…but I think I might make the actual purchase in Portland since it would be tax free!!

Pearls and Lace has a huge selection and great prices.  I ended up buying my dress in Bellingham at Alicia’s Bridal, you might want to stop there if you have time.  Good luck!
