Make sure you get some oil control blotting papers to go along with whatever powder you decide on.

1. Good moisturizer

2. Urban Decay De-slick spray before applying any make-up

3. Tarte clay setting powder to set everything

4. De-slick spray again to seal everything.

You should be good to go.

@sweetaure:  I reccomend using revlon colored stay foundations, both liquid for combo/oily skin or the whipped. They both need a slight amount of powder only were you get oily and you’ll be fine threw out the day. I had the same problem, I would do my make up and 1/2 hour later I’d be an oil slick. But those two foundations do amazing job keeping me matte. go with the liquid formula only if you don’t have dry patches, it will stick to dry skin and make them more visible .   The whipped version is amazing, has a natural finish (not totally matte) and stays all day! The liquid also stays all day but it is completely matte. give them a try, they are drugstore foundations so you wont be breaking bank, and also they revlon colored stay has a good setting powder as well. I hoped this helped!

Also the urban decay setting spray is also amazing, it is a little expensive though

@lovekiss:  I completely agree, thats my to combo, but I do love the Chanel Luminere foundation for an hairbrushed and natural glow without all the extra powders

My skin is super oily; it goes from looking good to looking slick and shiny within like 20 mins. I’ve finally found what works for me:

Tarte Clean Slate Poreless primer is an AMAZING primer. I’ve tried them all. Tarte is the only one that keeps the shine at bay.

As far as powder, I use Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder. This stuff is really amazing. It’s white, so first you may think “Oh, this is gonna make me look like a ghost,” but it doesn’t at all. It blends into ANY shade of skin. It doesn’t add any color, or cakey-ness on top of your foundation. It’s meant to just give your skin a set, matte finish.

I normally don’t buy high-end or expensive makeup products, but I swear, SWEEARRR by that Nars powder. Seriously. It has saved my confidence.

I tried the photo set finishing powder by smashbox and it absorbs oil like crazy! I have average to slightly oily skin (combination I guess), and it made my face look seriously matte, too much for my liking but if you have very oily skin this could be perfect for you.

If you want a powder foundation then I love Estee Lauder Double Wear powder makeup. You can use it as your foundation and build up the coverage or use it lightly over the top of foundation.

I have oily skin but don’t like having to put on lots of makeup in readiness for it wearing off and getting shiny. for a liquid foundation and powder I’m currently using Clinique Even Better liquid foundation which looks quite natural and Clinique Blended Face Powder in Invisible Blend. They’re oil free and fine for photos. I find with this combo you get a little bit dewy looking but not the obvious oily slick. Good luck!

@lovekiss:  That is exactly what I do!

OP: I have very oily skin as well and I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer Gel as my moisturizer (It’s really light). Then I spray some Urban Decay DeSlick setting spray on after the moisturizer dries. Then I use Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in “Light” It’s good for oily skin. Then foundation/concealer all that stuff. Then use Tarte’s Smooth Operator Micronized Clay translucent powder. It is a great setting powder for oily skin. Then bronzer, blush then when all done, I spray the UD DeSlick over everything. My skin does not shine AT ALL!!! I know that seems like alot but it’s worth it!!

Diorskin Forever powder makeup stays on great oily skin and as most Dior makeup photographs beautifully.  I have a very oily t zone and am planning to do a clay mask the day before to help minimize oil.  If you can go to Sephora and test out product combos it would be ideal since everybody’s skin is different. I would skip the moisturizer though.
