It should be what cake you love. Generally chocolate and vanilla will please all or you could get adventurous and do red velvet, carrot cake, or fruit cake. You could always do tiers of different flavors too. For me, I think I’ll be doing a red velvet tier, carrot cake tier and a vanilla/choc one.

I think cake is the best flavor of cake. Really, I love all cake.

Honestly, I’m not adventurous when it comes to cake so I hate going to a wedding only to be served, raspberry chocolate floufa or something like that. I don’t want to take a giant bite only to find its something weird. We went with simple chocolate, vanilla, and red velvet. If we had more tiers or a larger cake I may have gotten something “special” but I went with good ole normal flavors.

Our cake is red velvet with vanilla filling and chocolate fudge icing. I like most cake flavors except fruit cake ugh

I can’t have chocolate, so I prefer anything but that.

We’re doing 4 tiers and two flavors (white and chocolate … each with its own filling) but then on the largest tier, we’re having white cake/raspberry filling/chocolate cake so the people who like both flavors can have both in one piece.

@MrsPinkPeony: Agreed.

I’m a vanilla girl and Fiance is all about some chocolate. So that’s what we’re doing. I’m also grossed out by any fillings. Can’t do it. I really hate going to weddings where it’s all fancy and “unique” because I don’t eat the cake. That’s supposed to be the best part of the reception! Lol. I prefer to keep it simple and what I feel the majority of the guests would actually eat instead of politely covering it up with their napkin (a la my friend’s wedding with all kinds of weird flavors and fillings and whatnot).

We are having a 3 tier wedding cake… the top two will be french vanilla cake with raspberry filling and the botton layer will be pecan cake with caramel filling (our wedding is in September and we thought the flavor would go beautifully with the season). His grooms cake will be chocolate cake with peanut butter cup filling. We went to 6 tastings at 6 different bakeries! I love cake! We were looking for taste, decor and cost friendliness. Good Luck!   😉

Our Cake will be a Carrot Cake –  Incredible. We also plan to serve some chocolate and vanilla cake too for those who dislike carrot cake. Luckily these will be served from behind the scenes so I can buy two sheet cakes from Costco or something =)

We are having 3 tiers, the top will be fruit which we hope to freeze for the christening of our first child.

We haven’t completely decided the other 2 tiers yet but almost positive one will be chocolate. We are thinking of either a carrot or vanilla for the other layer.  They will all be iced the same so will look the same!
