So I’ve been getting sinus headaches a lot lately and the best thing I can do to fix them is 1) take a decongestant to clear everything out 2) take a hot steamy shower 3) take some excedrin if I still have a headache later on in the day but I’m all clear.
So that normally does the trick… Here’s my question. Fiance and I have a SHIT ton of IB profun, acetometefin, and naproxen (motrin, tylonol, and aleve) Which is the best to take to get rid of headaches if I don’t have any excedrin on hand??? and yes I know excedrin has aceto, asprin, and caffine in it.

I’d suggest Aleve. I’ve been told that is the only one that won’t cause rebound headaches. You have to be careful taking too much of any of those because they can cause ulcers.

@BoiledPNut: oh yea I’m sure to not take a lot. I’m kind of paranoid about the ulcers thing. and I normally only take something if I wake up with a headache (not a hangover headache either!) Thanks for the advice “:D

I don’t know if this will help anyone else on the planet, but in case it does, I’ll share. Whenever I start to get any kind of a major headache (sinus, tension, even pre-migraines) I go sit in my car and blast the A/C (or sometimes stick my face in the freezer or in front of a fan) and just breathe in the cold air. It usually works in making me feel better and taking the nausea away. It doesn’t always work for the migraines, of course, but those are a special kind of headache.
Maybe it’s just psychological though?

Aleve is always my first choice, but if I don’t have any lying around, I’ll take Advil. But since you’re saying that Excedrin is your first choice, then acetaminophen makes the most sense for you to take. I think what works best is different for everyone.
