I highly recommend that anyone that loves Bare Minerals and wants that flawless skin that lasts to try Hourglass Cosmetics Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation (goes on liquid, dries like flawless powder). Just apply with a mineral powder brush and top with mineral veil or similar type of powder for that airbrush look.
I am a longtime use of Bare Minerals (matte). While I love the natural feel and covering without the clogged pores and breakouts that other make up causes I hate the fact that it just doesn’t last. I also have combo skin (oily in the T-zone area).
I went into Sephora recently and told them my sob story and they recommended gold! I am amazed at how awesome this stuff is. While it is a bit pricey ($55) it is worth it. I also used their Veil Mineral Primer ($52) and this stuff reduces fine lines and keeps my make up looking fresh.
I just had to share this amazing stuff with you! Apparently it is what Kim Kardashian wore at her wedding too.

Ooooh. Bookmarking this. I’ve been looking for a foundation for summer, my current brand which has always been my old standby (Lancome) isn’t doing it for my pregnant skin. Also I’m trying to plan ahead so I don’t look like Night of the Living Dead in my post baby hospital pics haha! Thanks for the recommendation, I might have to make a trip to the mall this weekend to check it out.

Thats awesome to hear, Thanks for sharing! After several failed makeup trials I’ve come to the conclusion that I will be doing my own makeup for the big day. Now I just have to narrow down the best products to use. Good looking out, bee=)

@punkin83: I am trying it out at my cousin’s wedding Saturday, I will let you know how it goes photo wise. I keep looking at myself in amazement after two days.
For application use your moisturizer as normal and I do recommend the veil mineral primer I mentioned, it is the best I’ve ever used. Then apply the foundation using that brush. For your wedding you can even top with a light tapping of a mineral powder with color and then mineral veil powder (or equivalent) on top. That way for effortless touch ups you can apply a little more of your mineral powder (versus the liquid foundation). I have tried it both ways and I really like it either way, depending on what my activities call for.
Also, for colors I was a medium beige in bare minerals (although I swear it was a bit orange) and I am an ivory in the Hourglass make up. I think with my summer tan I will be a beige.
You can go in for a sample and test application at Sephora at no charge to determine the best color and if you like the feel. 🙂

Fantastic! I’ve been looking for a new foundation because I feel like my current one looks too cakey and powdery (if that even makes sense!) Ive been using Bare Naturals – Maybelline ( If I remember correctly – I just instinctinvely walk over and grab it now after using it for YEARS). I did try Bare Minerals and loved it (but it was in the wrong shade – I was mainly just trying it on for coverage/feel)

Thanks for sharing. I’m gonna bookmark this page. I have a quick question though. I’m an avid user of bare minerals and I’ve always used the original version of the foundation instead of the matte. You specifically mentioned that you use matte. Is there a big difference or benefit to usin one over the other. Is one better for a certain type of skin?
ETA: I’m really asking because I’ve debated whether youse matte in the past, but not knowing the difference I just stuck to the original.

From one oily skinned gal to another: Thank you!

I haven’t tried the foundation, but I swear by the primer! I’ve had my bottle since Sephora’s friends and family discount around this time last year, and I” mgetting low. It’s awesome and I’ve used with all types of foundations – from loose powder to mineral to bb cream to whatever else. I recently stopped in to Sephora to see this foundation in person and the one closest to me only had a very small selection of Hourglass and didn’t have this foundation ::( But I love everything else I”ve tried – have you tried the eye shadow duos? I only have 2, but they’re lovely. The lipsticks are also very nice, and I like that you can get refills.

@bride2befl21340: The matte offers more coverage with a less “pore” look. In other words you look more smooth versus natural with the normal Bridesmaid or Best Man.
I like coverage with the Bridesmaid or Best Man benefits so I opted for Matte. I have been told that some ladies break out due to certain ingredients in the Matter version but I haven’t had this issue.
@MsLobizon: The Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer is perfection. I cannot even begin to explanation how right you are, it is magic.
So ladies I promised photos and here you go. I put the make up on at 11 am and it remained (used moisturizer, sunscreen, Veil Primer, Hourglass Immaculate Foundation, Light tapping of Bridesmaid or Best Man Matte and Topped with Bridesmaid or Best Man Mineral Veil Powder) well into the night. When I returned to my room at 11:45 pm I looked in the mirror and was blown away. I mentioned it to my Fiance and even he said it looked fantastic. It lasted through tears, sweat and dancing, humidity, eating etc.
I touched up around my eyes once (due to tears) and added minimal lipstick after dinner.
@ 7 PM:
@ AROUND 10 pm:
Further proof, this is a photo taken at the rehearsal dinner. Make up was applied at 10 am and this photo taken at 7 pm. Applied more blush, mascara and lipstick only with a dab of mineral veil powder.

Going to look at it this weekend! Thanks!!! I have oily skin and it’s hard finding a foundation that won’t just add to that.

Just a side note, the color I am wearing in those photos is Beige as I had a spray tan applied for the wedding. Normally I wear Ivory to replace Bridesmaid or Best Man Matte Medium Beige.
In my personal opinion the colors are more accurate for Hourglass as well. Bridesmaid or Best Man was always a tad off and at times during the year I found myself mixing two colors just to get close.
