I am having my engagement pics and bridal pics taken in the next couple of weeks, and I have read that mineral makeup is not the best for photos. I love my Bare Minerals, but I am afraid that I need to use a different foundation to get a flawless look in pics. Does anyone have any suggestions for a flawless foundation that looks great in photos?
Or, if anyone has success stories of beautiful pics with mineral makeup, I would love that too!

I wore bare minerals for my e-pics..i’d definitely wished i’d gone with something heavier. I have nice skin, but it just didn’t give me that flawless look i wanted. And my lipstick looked lighter than I wanted, too
Why don’t you go get a makeover at a makeup counter? I sooo wish I’d done that at like, Sephora or Clinique or wherever.
I had Clinique Superfit on for my wedding day and I SOOOOO wish I’d at least had that for my e-pics.
Here’s a pic of me with mineral makeup,,,a little fuzzy, sorry. It just didn’t have the oomph i wanted

Oh and I got too shiny towards the end of our pics….in February with the snow around!

I went to Sephora and they recommended Makeup Forever HD Foundation. It made me look flawless and I haven’t gone back to my old stuff since!

I second Makeup Forever HD! Just make sure you get someone to help you get the right shade and it can be a little hard to tell on your own. I also highly recommend Philosphy’s The Present clear makeup primer. It helps my foundation last a lot longer than it normally would have.

Third for Makeup Forever HD! I used to use MAC foundation but bopped into a Sephora just to see what else was out there and was completely floored. It looks great on my skin and really worth the money.

Whatever you do, make sure the foundation does not have an SPF in it, as this will cause a whitish cast on your skin if a flash is used.
Make Up Forever definitely have some great ones, including the HD, Face and Body, and Mat Velvet.

I haven’t found my perfect foundation either, but I definitely recommend a primer. I use Philosophy’s The Present and it really smooths out my skin and makes my make-up last longer.

I use Bare Minerals primer daily. I have used The Present and loved it. My problem is that I don’t have a Sephora near, so I am going to have to guess at colors. The good thing is their return policy. If it doesn’t work, send it back!

I used Laura Mercier sheer foundation and loved it!

I used Shu Uemura for my wedding and it was amazing. I didn’t have any problems with it even when I was sweating!!! I’d show you a pic if I was on my PC at home, but since I’m at work I can’t. It’s called “Face Architect Smoothing Fluid Foundation.” and it helps to look like you’re not wearing makeup and goes on smooth. You can find it at Neiman Marcus or buy it online at Nordstrom.com. I highly recommend it since I have sensitive skin and am prone to break out.

I got mine done at the Clinique counter and am having the same girl come to my hotel on the day of my wedding to do all our makeup. And she gave me a great tip…when getting pictures taken don’t wear sunscreen, moisturizer with sunscreen, or foundation with sunscreen. When the sunscreen does it’s job (to reflect light!) the camera’s flash makes your face washed out in pictures!

Ooohh, I am so glad I read this thread! I never thought about how the SPF in some things affects how your pictures turn out. Thanks guys!
