Laura Mercier Silk was recommended to me by my friend who does makeup for photo shoots/TV.  It has a color corrector in it.

I’m a makeup artist/hair stylist and I HIGHLY recommend MUFE HD Foundation just like many other girls on this forum! It’s the best and absolutely flawless.  I’ve yet to have any problems with it when using it on my brides!  All the pictures on my website and blog are with MUFE HD!

I used bareMinerals for a couple years and really liked it, but recently I ran out and tried L’Oreal’s Bare Naturale, which I like even better. I have terrible, uneven, breakout-prone skin, and this stuff covers like nothing else while still being light and matte.

I wore Mac liquid Studio Fix. They applied the oil free lotion and primer and followed up with setting powder. lasted from noon until two that morning. Just used blot powder every few hours. My face tends to shine alot at the end of the day and I had no problems. I loved it so much I wear it everday now!

Any recomendations for ‘women of colour’. I’m afraid of looking ashy? I want to have a glow but not look greasy when viewed in photos.

I had the same concern for mineral foundation for my wedding pictures so I use Dior Forever foundation for those special occasions! I also believe in using a primer and anything by Laura Mercier.

Make Up 4 Ever — however you’d like it! 🙂  I’ve worn it for events, photoshoots, etc. and it never ever fails! It has great build-up coverage as well!

This is a great thread! I’m planning on hitting up Sephora with my mom (honest opinion and all) and I want to keep an eye out for the Makeup Forever stuff.

I love MAC Studio Tech. I wear it everday as a concealer, and as a full-coverage foundation when I want to look flawless.

But this thread is making me want to run out and buy the MUFE HD! I love their eyeshadows and fake eyelashes.

MUFE HD is amazing if your skin can stand it. It made my face really tight and itchy so I had to pass. Thankfully, Sephora will make you a sample to try before shelling out the big bucks.

I wound up using mineral makeup products from Jane Iredale and Everyday Minerals for both the wedding and e-pics. Both turned out really well and didn’t get shiny. A big difference between BE and JI/EDM is that BE contains bismuth oxychloride, which gives it that ‘glow’. The other don’t. My foundation was the EDM Intensive formula for a full coverage, matte look.

Good luck!
