I’m using too faced primed and poreless for me , i think they have an illuminating one to get that dewy look you’re going for. I have to agree with the PP that mentioned Airflash with a brush , and for a dewy look adding a cream highlighter on top to still get the look you’re going for however in the right places :-)… I can’t wait to see your recap !
Barbiestylez: I’ve tried using the uber-popular Smashbox primer for about 3 days and hated it– it did nothing (I have large pores). However, I just bought the “POREfessional” primer by Benefit because when I tried it on in Ulta it completely diminished my pores. I’m wearing it under my makeup for the first time today, so we’ll see how it works out.
I’ll have to agree w/ some PP’s that the Armani silk foundation, the Dior Airflash, and the Kat Von D are supposed to be some of the best (although I see that you already have the KVD– maybe mix it with some moisterizer/primer?). I personally haven’t tried any of these myself but plan to do so soon since my engagement photos are coming up and I too am desperately searching for a photo-ready foundation. Keep us updated!
I love my Estee Lauder Double Wear, however it does have SPF so it can cause a white cast (it’s not really a problem if you’re fair skinned though). I know the Smashbox 15 hour foundation is loved by many. Have you tried MUFE Matt Velvet? I hated the MUFE HD as well but apparently the matt one is better.
As far as primers, test out Smashbox Photo Finish, Benefit Porefessional, Too Faced Primed and Poreless, and Becca’s matt primer. Those are all the most popular but you need to see which ones works best for your skin.
Barbiestylez: hey! I had oily skin which changed to normal skin and the whole time (10 years) i’ve used the same amazing liquid foundation. L’oreal infallible. Covers imperfections, dark circles, uneven skin tone and if you choose the right shade people can’t tell you’re wearing it they think you look great. Goes on really nicely with either a brush or fingertips and one glass pump bottle lasts months. It is genius and the only foundation I know of that works so well and has such a good range of shades. in fact there are no other brands I’ve found that match my pale skin better than their porcelain.
I love Mac Pro long wear, it’s a bit less covrage than studio fix which I found too heavy but can be built up if you wanted to.
Just wanted to stick my head in and say that I tried Dior Airflash for the first time on the weekend, and I think I have a new contender for wedding day foundation. It was a bit weird to apply, I think I’ll either need to take it off the back of my hand, or otherwise get better at spraying it on my face with my eyes closed. But the finish is exceptionally good, buildable/full coverage with a lovely glow that’s not greasy. One layer (blended out with a brush) gave me a pretty good going-out amount of coverage. I reckon two layers would be perfect for bridal. I managed to get through 8 hours of shopping and errands in Singapore without developing much shine, which is really quite impressive given I get greasy after half an hour regardless of foundation choice here.
On the downside, I think the colour selection might be limiting for some ladies.
I wore Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder foundation for my wedding (and also wear it at least half the days of the week). I”m obsessed with it. YOu can do a quick layer or build it up for more coverage. It photographs beautifully
